i started out with a standard single speed racing bike with low gearing. But after some collisions which left me with a bended wheel i decided to get me a MTB or something that ll support bigger wheels..
and now i found this bike fairly cheap (125 eur.?) 2nd hand (its a da bomb - grenade)

Now why I'm in doubt:
-will my saddle hight be high enough.? (could i just put a bigger seatpost in?)
-will my clearence at bottom bracket be to big?
-anyone else ride/rode a fork with a spring? This is assuming it's not lockable..
-does it just look bad-ass/indestructible enough to ignore all these comments (thats
what im going for at the moment..)Any thoughts/opinions.?
thx

And a repost..
lol
^^ sums it up.
you have to be able to laugh with anything ^(as long as its not a personal attack).
you get offended, your loss.
whats the difference between not being allowed to laugh with the holocaust or with a picture of the profet mohammed..?edit: only now saw the stack of hollocaust bodies picture..
oh well, ve seen it before with following line.:
'Religion - I cant see your god, maybe he's underneath all those bodies.'
Not really funny but true as ever. -

if it's a master then why does it say 'competition' and not 'master' as with any other master.?
- the master has chromed lugs, mine doesnt..?
As with the respray, dont know if its possible, but i imagine if you have it resprayed real properly you get all the decals with it..? Could also explain the lack of chrome luggings, but then again if you'd have such a proper respray, you'd leave the lugs chrome rite.?

well, by luck actually, someone was selling it, i was the first to react to the add and bought it.
But not one helpfull reply? =/
I was certain the lfgss mob was going to sort me out with more info then I'd be needing..
Most of what i know about bikes came from lurking around here for a year..Yeah well, doesnt make the bike any less then I thought it was when I bought it..

thank you
I am stil a bit shocked myself, was very lucky to stumble upon it, and it was a close call as well or it wouldve been snatched before my nose..and I wouldve been expecting campy parts on it as well, but I bought it as a whole and this is how it came..
By the way, in the search for frames similar, the only colnago track frames that had shimano on em were the Mapei Masters but that is definately not the same frame (where the seatpost goes in it is longer)and again: the columbus labeling..
-
Hi
I can't seem to find any info on this frame i aqcuired.

It appears to be a colnago competition pista (because thats what it says on the toptube) yet i cant find any info on that particular frame.
the only link i find to it is this one: http://www.chariandconyc.net/blog/colnago-gilco-pista-track-frame-competition
for this frame:

Which is the only frame i found that looks exactly the same.
Except for the columbus labeling (on the seatstay as well as on the forks) and the chrome at the 'lugging'.. Can it be this frame got resprayed though?Any info is welcome

I wonder if that was the only lock he could get which colour matched his frame? Perhaps there's less crime in Birminghahaha what am I thinking.
I'm sure similar has been said before, but walking around Antwerp a while back was bizarre. Almost all the bikes, and there were loads, were locked up overnight with cable locks, often only to themselves. Not just old city bikes either, shiny new carbon fibre racers too.
yes lol.
im from Antwerp and had never properly locked a bike in my life.
But getting a few bikes (badly locked beaters thank god) knicked and reading this forum made me paranoid and now i'm one of the only Belgians with a fahg mini and friends mock me for the lock-over-kill..and only now i realise how poorly bikes are locked around here, srsly any UK bike thief would feel like a kid in a candy store here..

ok, belgium post office is a total rip off..
cbass (and everyone else non belgian) ;
shipping costs of a >2kg parcell internationally is 26€So youre going to get it cheaper from amazon (they charged me around 10£ shipping)..
Im putting this on kapaza.be and the likes..
Any belgians still interested, PM away !bye now
-
are you talking about amazon for both those purchases.?
so far ive got a 'return purchase order' ready from amazom stating that this product is eligable for refund..
Did those friends in the UK also have this confirmation? I'd like to know before contemplating sending this to the UK..@Cbass, ill have a look what shipping to Germany ll cost, ill let you know. But anyhow, 50€ is too little..
If returning it to amazon is too expensive for my liking or I'm not sure of getting a refund and nobody here buys it for abovementioned amount, I'm just keeping it as secondary (OVERKILL) lock :)

lol, ideal post to get my lock sold, thx for that :/
anyway, this lock is the mofo of all locks, you cant get any theft-proofer then this..check the locks that work thread:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread17938.htmlBut as stated before, the lock is perfect for any track bike with normal rims, mine have deep hipster powdercoated rims and thus the lock is just a wee bit to small to fit frame+wheel+pole (any 2 combination will do but then i lose the theft-proof stamp) ..
No Belgians? Komaan leeuwen !
-
i know thats where i got it from :)
thats why im saying only belgians would be interested as they'd make a profit on shipping..there s no belgian bike forum the likes of this..
just trying you know, if i dont get a reply within a couple of days, im going for the amazon refund, but that ll cost me the shipping :/

yeah couldnt think of and advantage to riding a suspension fork but since its on there, was wondering if it would really be a disadvantage.. And i'm trying to keep it low budget as possible, so wouldnt want to be replacing anyhting soon. Unless you know some really cheap forks..?
thx anyway !
