They have either a Hasselblad or Imacon flextight scanner that I saw at a tour of digitalab so I imagine the scans would be pretty good, although I haven't actually had any done by them. What kind of scanner do you use nefarious?
I use a Nikon coolscan 9000 that they've got in my studio. For 35mm film they just use a Coolscan IV last time I checked, it's the reason I never bothered getting scans from them.

I had the same problem, Digger. The jeans in question are now just on the verge of being wearable - from tight round the waist to 3-4 inches of slack taken in by a belt. I'm too attached to them to let them go so they get worn anyway - something weirdly satisfying about wearing proper nice denim as workwear.
Also, just purchased this:

Carhartt State Coat.
Heavy Japanese denim (admittedly non selvedge but still very nice) unwashed. First proper denim jacket and I'm already in love! Also, does anyone know what the whole "Union" and "Union Made" thing is about?

exactly.
plus you can put on a cog tighter with rotafixing
Chainwhip+extension bar that is bigger than the radius of the wheel will give you more leverage. Rotafixing can also reduce the life of/damage a chain. It's a useful trick but chainwhip every time where possible IMO. And Even without an extension bar, I've never had any trouble getting a cog on/off with a decent chainwhip as it is.
