cool, would like to see pics when done. I haven't been doing much by way of bike projects of late, haven't got any spare ££ while working to get the Painted Roads biz up and running. All good fun, but I am on the cusp of building myself a dedicated fixed gear tourer..
i meant similar in function rather than form, it's based around a giant omnium so it's never going to be that pretty. At the moment it needs nice wheels and i simply dont have the cash so it's sitting looking a bit redundant :-(

i've been meaning to find out about TT course number codes for years and just looked it up. I read through a fair bit of the CTT website which is delightfully outdated, here is some of my favorite advise which i thought might be of use to you all;
"(cycling) shorts do tend to ride down so it is worth purchasing a pair of clip on braces to hold them up"
"(climbing) out of the saddle with the hands on the brake hoods... is known as ‘honking’"
I love the CCT and all it's volunteers but sometimes you have to laugh :-)

Sadly i haven't ridden a TT in nearly 2 years but hopefully I'll be returning next season.
Anyway here is a spread sheet, i've done it for 10, 25 and 50 miles rather than the BAR standard of 50, 100 and 12h but it's easily changed. Anyone should be able to access and edit with this link

Probably
It gives numbers which work for me (for general road cycling), which are also in the ballpark of the reported pressures used by professional road racers. It's just a starting point, you should experiment to see what feels to your taste.
well i'll give it a go. 110-120 psi is pretty much my norm but your formula reckons 93 psi which is noticeably different. i'd always assumed that firmer tyres would deform less and therefore be quicker.
when you say that it works for you is that just based on feel or do you have a more mechanical reason why a lower psi might be better? thanks!
if you dont mind me asking more details, does your race psi differ from a general road riding psi and why?

I lost my A level results certificate, and AQA want to charge me nearly £110 to replace it. In fact it's not even a replacement, it's only a statement of results. Wankers.
Can I just Subject Access Request them under the data protection act instead? They can only charge a maximum of £10 for this
It might be worth contacting your old school, they might have some sort of record which they would give you.

the fiz in coke if from bubbles of CO2 which are added to the drink by dissolving the gas into the coke in some sort of cold or high pressure environment until it is 'supersaturated with co2'.
The fiz in your couscous probably isn't because they deliberately supersaturated it with CO2! That means the gas is coming from somewhere else, or rather someone else. It's almost certainly from bacteria which have set up camp in your food and are busy respiring. You'll only notice the fizz if there is enough bacteria to make a noticeable amount of gas, in this case there must have been a fair few.
Fortunately your gut is pretty good at killing bacteria, so unless they were particularly nasty or you ate loads and loads of them you should be OK.

Shows like this make you realise how dependent the world is on the clear genius of inventors/enquirers/artists/explorers/the curious. All findings that represent progression, and discoveries in any and all fields could lay dormant
Didn't Da Vinci's anatomy work not get published until 100's of years after his death. He was a genius, way ahead of his time, but because it wasnt published none of the work contributed to science until well after it was understood by others.

Where are the best places in Central/South London to study?
I'm looking for Public Librairies or other quiet-ish places with space to use a laptop and ideally wifi. (My two closest public libraries are facing closure due to the cuts and the only place I know centrally which isn't noisy is being shut for the Olympics.)

Ambulance attending a rider down on the decent of Anerley Hill by the entrance to Crystal Palace station.
Rider was laying in the road and being looked after by paramedics, not being a witness and seeing plenty of help at hand I didn't hang around so all want to add is that I hope anyone involved is OK.
