The 1975 Speedwell Titanium Pista with period components is getting there...
New 75`weyless seatpost, ttt track stem, (extremely expensive, heavy but sexy) early ttt track bars, still need 111mil omas ti bb axle to fit the ta cranks and a decent pair of wheels.
and one in the new living room with all the bikes minus the 81 ex Danny Clark De Rosa Pista (which is in my office)
-
I sold this on here in march 2011 but I think to the guy you bought it from (actually it seems to have gone through hands on here). Good to see it again. I always liked it.
maybe I still do have pictures of how it was built up before the hhsb treatment in the first pic. Nice work on the repairs btw.
edit: Just checked...Yep I sold it to Dandy, remember shipping it to Leeds.

Thanks Rodolfo.
I am now sure the bike is an early Speedwell (seatcluster). It was built before 76, so this defines the parts that I will use.
Other changes:
- I carefully reamed the forks to get the stem in smoother and lower, also took a washer out of the headset. Looks much better.
- TA cranks now fitted.
- Took the frontwheel of my blue chick to see how it will look like with 2 or10 rims (not convinced).
- Changed saddle to selle milano touriste supperleggero (looks better I think).
To Do:
- get rid of the campa headset and BB
- find 111 OMAS TI bb axle to fit TA cranks
- fit OMAS BB
- fit NOS OMAS alloy seatbinder bolt.
- get TI bolts for the seatpost plua a small one for the stem. Get alloy wedge for the Stem
- get period correct super light track Pedals.
- get period correct light track chain.
- sort the wheels out (period correct and light, no idea what I should use. There is a nice pair of omas/nisi wheels on the bay but they are quite expensive...)
- decide on headset: the grey Stronglight below (middle) or get an OMAS. From what I can see Stronglight A9s did exist in 75 but I don^t know if that is true about the
version i have, which is the only one of that kind i have ever seen, kind of like a mix of a9 and b10, called A9e (xtralight). If anybody knows anything give me a shout. I
would like to use it as it is 25grams lighter than the omas superlight.
cheers

@ Snicks: I have the cranks and wheels but I will be in touch should i decide to use DA.
@Rodolfo: Thanks, I opened a topic in current projects.

^^good question, the bars are custom made. stem and bar combo with a kind of a-headset contruction 17 years before its time and 7-10 years before bullhorn bars where the norm. I will get some better pics if you want.
^i can see why you think that its inch pitch, really looks that way in the pic, but its simply a NOS TA 50t 3/32 chainring on SL 49D cranks. I am afraid she does not really consider herself lucky, its just another bike to her, it runs really well she finds....I find that fair enough. not too much into her bags either...

Ok so I thought I would open a complied thread of all my bikes/projects here, especially as I have a new one:
Here is the stable:
- The 3 chicks: track/tt/road

http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=2524&pictureid=1576177' Time Trial (castrated for GF use...normally 57chainring, higher seatpost and cages)
http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=2524&pictureid=1575881' Road (all superlight components pre 82' currently at 7.8kgs)
http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=2524&pictureid=15759Other/Track
81' De Rosa ex Danny Clark .He won the 81 keirin world championships on it and used it in the 82 keirin. All original except from bartape and saddle...pictured with the training wheels I have the race wheels as well. shite pic i know
http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=2524&pictureid=16436clark on the bike in 2nd
http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/photos/interviews/kris-clark.jpgNew project: Bought it as a KaIkhoff (branded as Kalkhoff) but am sure it is the to date 3rd known **Speedwell Ti Track **frame, most likely reinforced by flema in Germany, branded as Kalkhoff built in the late 70s. It is on its way to me at the moment...will get nice light period correct bits. Any thoughts/ideas appreciated.
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/l70u-3-eccb.jpgCurrently looking for:
28H Campa Record Pista High flange Front Hub, Mavic OR 10 gold rim 28h
Headset Locknut Campa SR
2 chrome rear Campa Record track nuts.cheers
Mr. C
P.S. pics come up as links only in my browser, can somebody tell me what I did wrong?
- The 3 chicks: track/tt/road

^^cheers for the trust you put in me. Yep it is titanium. My plans: the usual...at first i thought complete 70's SR pista with ti bb and ti spindles in the pedals...but I have that already. then I thought classic DA with the high flange DA sheriff stars, but now I think it's getting the superlight treatment which it deserves. Complete omas would be an (expensive) idea or most likely a mix of my favourite 70's superlight components but not too light as I want it stiff as well...you can see I need more time to make up my mind.
in any case it will look similar to this:
http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=2524&pictureid=15761
no brake obviously^will keep you updated and open a projects thread once i receive it.
