This thread is making me worry about getting run over every time I get on my bike now, which means I'm enjoying it less.
And now there are pictures of people who have been in an accident? Is this a bit too far? Why would you take a photo of someone who's just been run over? I think this person died too.Clearly the answer is stop reading it isn't it.

Anyone registered on https://www.immobilise.com as recommended in the article? Clearly a long shot but has to be worth it.
As another incredibly long shot, I have one of those UV pens to mark your phone number on valuables. This was given to me by a copper friend who said there are hundreds of recovered items in police shops that they have no way of tracing the owner.I'm thinking of hanging a banner on Cygnet St calling the people who buy stolen bikes worse than the thieves.

And remember, take care of yourselves, and each other.

one pratt got his phone slapped out of his hand for being REALLY stupid, and almost causing a major accident,
Quality!
I ride through bank everyday and do the lemming run where twat peds jump out in front of me every other second in between the traffic. It makes me laugh (read as; shits me to tears) the amount of people who are looking in the wrong direction. I find a nice discreet BOO!* often alerts them to the fact that they should be looking at the oncoming traffic.
They should thank us for teaching them a lesson and possibly saving their lives.
*follow by the mutterings of cunt under my breath.

Perhaps we should all take to flinging an assortment of condiments at offending road users? That'll learn them.
I have (almost) learned that being aggressive never works. On the odd occasion that I have calmly explained their error to them, it's ended in a reasonably conversation. Apart from when one bloke said I should get a car so I called him a fat C*nt that should get a bike.
I think we shouldn't let them drive on blissfully unaware but without making them hate all cyclists, innit.

Dude, don't stress it, a bit of sarcasm and piss taking is par for the course here.
As Fred said, just rock up with your camera, get to know the guys, bring cake/beer/weed (or other appropriate polo related drugs), and start snapping away, they're a friendly bunch and i'm sure most won't mind.Cheers James.
Think I'll still sack the photography and just come and drink, eat cake and be merry! -

i know exactly what a holga is and what lomo camera is. i just refuse to accept that vignetting, sharpness fall off, added saturation, lack of contrast, lens artifacts, uncontrolled flare etc etc = creativity or you suddleny become a better photographer when you use one. the argument that some people use of " it makes you take your time and think more about your images" is bullshit, just take your time and think more about your images with your 'normal' camera.
a holga placed in the hands of a monkey doesn't make a creative monkey.I never said you become a better photographer because you use a Holga, and that certainly is not my opinion.
As I said before, it was by way of explaining why I''m 'taking snaps' if I'm a 'professional photographer'. I simply meant it to explain that what I wanted to do here is take some photos for fun, rather than the (semi) 'professional' stuff I'm commissioned to do.I don't think your rant was aimed at me, particularly as I haven't ever used that argument, but I apologise for hitting a nerve here.
I"m thinking I'll just leave it.

A holga does not have the same manual controls as (D)SLR and therefore they're non-comparable.
The results you get from these medium format films are entirely different from manual cameras because of their make up. Therefore they are not generally used for portraiture in a professional camera.
I'm assuming you know what a Lomography is so you're equipped to have this discussion.I some how knew my request to take some 'snaps' wouldn't be a straightforward one.

Are we allowed Jpegs of these? I fancy a change of desktop wallpaper on my 28" screen. Some obscenities would go down nicely, ta.
