To be fair, we have never had a problem with the staff at the Flask (not that I'm aware of) Most of them know us already and are very friendly to us. In fact one of the waiters even wears the North's t-shirt on Tuesdays! It's true that other pubs make you feel more welcome, but it's also true that the Flask is a big venue with plenty of different kinds customers. We are just a fraction of it.

Wouldn't mind a monthly visit to other pubs, just for the sake of cycling around with you lot. But the Flask is in a way keeps us together. It might not be the greatest pub in the world but it is our home every Tuesday. Loosing that, means loosing our identity as a group of people that like meeting together (such a group of sweaty men up the hill...)

For me as for others, it is not only about the price of the beer. It is about keeping this group together. Having a place that we can relate to is essential for this as it becomes something that we all share. Said that, NOT drinks can always be done any other day of the week too.

None of the regulars at the pub particularly enjoyed us being there last night, and neither did the staff. Apart from that one guy behind the bar.

Owen, I'm not sure what you mean by "not enjoying us being there". Do you mean the rest of Norths? or the other customers?

If it's the first, we DO enjoy you all up there. If it's the second, I couldn't care less...

A magazine has asked me to photograph a lifestyle shoot with two BMX riders.
