Mine's an old sun frame too I think thanks gav...but whilst all your parts would fit I don't need everything and want more modern (or long life) parts for the rest. So the hunt continues...

thanks for all the useful info El_Diablo. I'll hold on the wheel for now (as think I'll be spending so long building/sorting other bits I'm not up for building a wheelset (yet))...

The headset shell on it at the moment does look like it would just clamp onto a stem and a 1 inch headset nut on the top would hold everything in place. But I'd need an oversized stem...I think they exist...I'll get onto the CTC guys and see what comes up.

I'm thinking of north road style bars for this - laid back sunday riding seems more likely for this than getting my fiancé into racer mode!

yeah - but if you look closely you'll see where all the wear from gripping is on the drops...

For info - They fit from 23c's upwards (22mm width at the top so no bulgey bits with 23c's). Were designed to allow wider tyres for tricks but don't demand them
