Why would it be un-rideable? Not something you'd leave locked with one of those shoe-string cables outside the local chippy certainly. But there's middle ground.
Just meant that you sounded quite committed to NOS yet as soon as it's ridden then it no longer is the think that you spent a year looking for so I was wondering if you were building it to ride or to keep somewhere (another response answers this).

May as well ask, been hoping one would turn up here or on fleabay, but I'd like to get this bike built sooner rather than later...
Has anyone got one that they're not using? hub on it's own, or laced to a silver CXP 33 would be the icing on the cake, but I'd probably be interested in anything else.
130mm spacing, old style (non proprietary) obviously preferable but would take a new one, can pay cash (if in London) / paypal straight away.

Is this anyone heres? Might be of interest, I know a few people around here have a soft spot for Aendes.
Aende lo pro, 700c wheels front and back. BIN perhaps a little high, and probably nicer not to have been powdercoated, but they don't come up that often (although there are two on the 'bay at the minute)

Willo - I'm sure you tried this already, but I bought an aerohead 24" direct from Airnimal cycles, they have stock for their folding bikes that they sell.
Also, for odd size rims try Whiskers cycles - 01438 798772, no website - I got the number from the chaps at Roberts cycles. I was after a 650c rim in silver (sounds silly, but I trawled most of the London shops and couldn't find one anywhere apart from H+ and deep V's) and they had a fairly large selection.

It's like he used to have a bike with a rear 5 speed cassette so someone told him the inner chain ring on the front is 5 gears and with the outer makes 10... Inner 5, outer 10.
He's nwo applying that to a bike with an 8 speed cassette, his logic being the outer front is means "a 10" plus the 8 on the rear cassette means it's an 18.
I dunno, obviously the poor chap's very confused, he can't even spell his own name correctly. =(
I must be bored and actually did ask him to clarify. Response below, it's perfectly clear to me now (I suggested that the 8 speed cassette perhaps meant it had 16 speeds):
"listen its 18 speed take it or leave it.
or learn maths 8 + 10 = 16 em not.
8 + 10+ 18 fact. and i know for sure that every chain wheel on a crank adds 5 gears so 3 chain wheels is 15 gears. so please get your facts right ." -
i am(was) eyebrows...
I would have kept it fluoro green mind, but then I like fluoro colors.
oops - sorry, didn't realise you were one and the same :)
I was convinced I was going to keep it green until I went in (to Roberts) - I think it's sometimes nice to keep things as they originally were. There was a nice flam red one on the wall which looked spectacular and changed my mind. Probably the right choice - not sure I could have lived with the green in the end.

Yes it is - it used to be Henry's (and previously eyebrow's I think). I'm actually not that keen on the aero headtub and given that it's pretty much the only concession to be aerodynamic on the whole frame it seems a little pointless - but the filled up seatstays I love.
I think it's a chunk smaller than Teddy's as I believe it's meant to ride with a long seatpost (and obviously has routing for a rear deraileur as well) but yeah, I think you can see some similar thinking.

Got the Mercian back from the painters... Looks rather glorious I think. It's been variously described as ugly, short and uncomfy, so I thought perhaps a ginger kitten would help it's newly painted appeal - everyone loves ginger kittens don't they!
Going to take a while to build up, I have nothing for it!

I think I'd forgotten Yo Eddy's existed... never saw one in the flesh.
