No all repairs have been FOC.
The shop could take the stance that they will repair it. Which still leaves me in the same position of a choice between repair and refund. I would be happy with the refund but would prefer a new F&F.
I found the 5% refund in amongst this impact assessment.

The bike shop have been excellent with helping trying to solve it/deal with the manufacture.
I have told the retailer and manufacturer that I want a new F&F to which the retailer have pushed for. However the manufacturer are sticking by their B&W procedure of the reaming/rebonding of the BB as the next step. If this is the only option I will tell them to stick it and get my money back.
I was just wondering if there was a legal number of repairs allowed. I understand that after 2/3 repairs I can ask for 5% of the bike cost back as a refund but not clear if I can demand a new frame that they are obliged to supply.

I have my SSCX for commuting, my road bike only leaves the house during dry weather for training rides. So would be hard to ask for transport cost. That is why I wanted a demo bike to continue training and also just make a point that I've spent good money of a bike not to be there to ride when I want it.

I have a bike I purchased from a big brand (don't want to name until problem solved) in May,Since then it has been back to the shop twice for new BB bearings and then a 3rd time to be sent back for warranty claim, where they replaced the bearings with a pair 200microns larger. This is because of poor manufacturing of frame on tolerances for push fit bearings. Now the oversized bearings have gone!
The brand want it back to ream out the current BB sleeve and then bond in a new one. I'm not overly happy with this solution. Even with their reassurance of it being returned with a 'as new' BB shell. I will both be loosing my bike for a second period of time, last was 10days. Also spending money I don't have on an expensive bike it feels a bit of a cop-out solution. The warranty department also don't give out demo bikes as a replacement.
So, does anyone know if there is a section in consumer law that states the number of repairs which are allowed before a replacement is an acceptable request? Also my research has mentioned something about requested a partial refund after a couple of repairs for inconvenience, is this true?
In theory my bikes has been repaired 3 times already for the same problem.

Building a pompino as a commuter/CX bike and need a few bits. Trying to build something nice but on a serious budget.
Sorry picked up a seatpost and v's, so just the following:
Tyres, something with some reasonable tread left on them, maybe in the 32mm
Pedals, I want to run sod, but as this will be my day-to-day bike as well wondering if anyone could suggest a pair of pedals that have cleats both sides but still ok to ride in trainers. Also not too bulky. I was thinking maybe Time Atac MX4's
Thanks,
Neil

^ That article is so bad! Especially as the roads outside the park were only closed briefly on Saturday morning for the Elite Ladies race.
The event was good, although I dislike the fairly unavoidable multiple lap bike course and the monmouth transition run. Didn't do quite as well as I had hoped, tired legs and getting stuck behind people on the corners on the bike. A good crowd though.
@Dooks glad you survived and enjoyed it.

It was incredible and a relief to hit the top. It also came after 5k of switchback ascent, but totally worth it. Also what goes up must come down and the descent to Lake Como was just amazing sweeping corners and switch backs. Would definitely recommend doing the climbs to Madonna del Ghisallo and then the Muro. Not easy but worth it!

Had a nice spin down to Camber Sands/Rye yesterday. The coastal road and approach was horrid with a strong SW wind.

Not sure, I was thinking of ironing out some of the kinks and going for it over the course of 24hrs, my parents live pretty close to who ever created this route. The nasty bit of doing this in one go is that the end section through Devon and start of Cornwall would be hard on tired legs.
If you wanted something a bit more pleasant though, could make a full day cycling to Sidmouth then do the remaining +100k the following day.

I am consider cycling down at some point in August as well to see my parents. I found this: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2417024
could maybe do with a bit of editing and straightening out. As long as it doesn't make it hillier.
I'd be keen to know a route that someone has tried and tested.

I have a 705 and have noticed sometimes, especially for long routes it takes ages/isn't loading my preloaded routes. The route for the Dartmoor classic wouldn't load, kept running through to 100% and just staying on screen with the 100%. It was also temperamental at the start of the Ditchling-Devils audex, but eventually loaded.
I am downloading the routes from ridewithgps as a gpx file on to the Garmin then going into saved routes. Is this a problem with my Garmin, my method or the routes have too many points?

Just to confirm. I've not payed for repairs, they've all been carried out free by the shop or manufacturer.
I have tried demanding a replacement but only get the offer of a repair. Leaving me the option of repair or demand a refund. I need to know if they are legally required to replace after so many repairs or can they by law keep repairing till I get fed up and ask for a refund.
