Had one of these yesterday, bloody lovely.
In other news, I ordered a guiness at a pub. They had a tap on the counter, so I was a little confused when he reached for the fridge. Out comes a 500ml tin of guinness, poured into a pint glass and topped up with a shot of water. Yes, you heard. Speechless.

With a normal triple triangle, everything is (generalizing terribly) being squashed or stretched. As soon as you cantilever the seat tube by moving the stays down, it seems like you're adding another failure mode by asking it to resist buckling as well; hence my assumption that it would be heavier, given that you would have to compromise the geometry of the seat tube to deal with another load. A tube being stretched or squashed can have very thin walls and be very structurally efficient, that goes to shit when you are trying to buckle it. Stand on a coke can then tap the side etc.

I can't make it today either (my excuse isn't as good), but I would be up for a roll around tomorrow for sure.
