About 9:15am. There were maybe 7 or 8 bikes of varying commuter designs. Mostly light coloured. The girl on the floor had a black dress on. Not a serious situation but it just looked like a few people had come off together.
I have seen a motorcycle accident at the same spot before - not sure what causes that stretch of road to be dangerous. I guess people floor it towards the roundabout.
Spotted yesterday on the Hipster Highway: A black IRO with - could it have been? - a bottle green anodised H Plus Son with matching spokes…?!?!
I rode past this - the girl on the tarmac looked reasonably ok (I hope anyway) and there were loads of people helping out, one guy marshalling the buses out of the way etc.

Yo - just got back to Hackney now. Didn't find the one we lost (my mate Dylan) but spoke to him and he is safe and well and home via the train at Harlow.
I toured around Essex's famous countryside for a while looking for him but then cut my losses and rode back in to town via Epping, Leytonstone and Stratford.
Anyway had a wicked day, thanks to all for the company and to Oliver for organising. Cheers!

I've actualy seen my Bob Jackson in the flesh now (see my original post here http://www.londonfgss.com/thread6261-248.html#post797992)
I had to get the forks strightened, which Barron cycles did for me. The Mavic stickers are off and it looks a lot better.
The rims (see the original pics) are Mavic Open 4 CD's which will be staying. I have a pair of Shimano 105 aero pedals coming with some original toe clips - I got those from the (great) tour de ville in Hackney.
On closer inspection the frame and forks have quite a bit of damage to the paintwork and the chrome. Its a tricky balance between restoration and keeping the character but I' ve decided to get it re-sprayed at Bob Jackson, because I want it to be protected and to last, but their brief will be too reproduce the current colourway and transfers as closely as they can manage, as I have warmed to the colour now and think it is fairly unusual looking.
Anyway you can see some shots here: http://picasaweb.google.com/jamesparker262/BobJackson?feat=directlink

My mate, Deirdre, has got a red Chick frame - she rode the PBP on it.
I think this is him now.
I'm not sure - thats Barron cycles - the orignal guy who ran it was the framebuilder Barry Barron who is retired now. His son Steve runs the shop now but not sure if he makes frames as well.
My Dad got all his TT frames - including a stunning low-pro - from there so spent good few Saturday afternoons in there when I was 12/13...

Thanks for the suggestions/comments/pleas :) all. Nothing is set in stone until I see it in the flesh, have a ride etc which will be in a couple of weeks. I agree nothing is wrong with the set up; it will be mainly ridden in town but not as my main commuter bike...I don't like drop handlebars for that purpose much hence me wanting to switch them up.
The idea of taking it back to Bob Jackson was so it wasn't a butcher job on a respray. Anyway cheers for the views.

Hello all. This is my first post on the forum.
I've just aquired this Bob Jackson - 753 tubing, dura ace hubs, Mavic rims. Not sure what the cranks/chainwheel etc are, possibly dura ace but haven't actually seen this yet, as the previous owner is in the depths of Lincolnshire and a 3rd party arranged the sale.
Gonna be my first build so as much about learning how to put a bike together as well as the end product...looking to get a respray from Bob Jackson (probably off-white/ivory), new back wheel (Velocity or DP18 or some such), flat bars, get rid of the bottle cage, plus a nice brooks saddle and some matching handlebar tape.
Hope to have it finished for September respray time depending, and will post up some pics/let you know how I get on...

Absolutely necessary for any activity...but can pick up on the way if I have to.
