I love everything about it: the act of riding, exploring new areas, exercise; burning lungs, legs full of lactic acid, overtaking standing traffic, not having to think about anything because I am 100% focused, repairing it, maintaining it and putting new parts, I even enjoy washing the thing
I rode fixed on the roads for the first time today, it was a bit weird at first but I was really enjoying it by the time I got home. I was a bit knackered, did about 15 mile round trip. I can see I'm going to love it more than riding a geared bike, top fun

I don't have drops, my current bike is an MTB set up as a commuter. As it's over 20 years old now I'm not sure I would want to be too rough with it, plus the forks are wrong for off road. I mainly put the tourer tyres on the SS wheels so I could do towpaths light trails etc, the offroading was an afterthought. I think I'd be better getting another MTB and making some 26" SS wheels

now that bankers are back on the gravy train i think it's time to start thinking about our struggling premiership football players again
Sponsor a Footballer and help them get their Bentleys this Xmas
I'm doing my bit to smash the system by never having any money and never buying football shirts
what are YOU lot doing to stick it to the man?

nah they're not in the bin, I was probably just saying that to get rid of them. The bike is going in the street with a 'free' sign in a bit
someone texted me last night about the wheels, I texted them back this morning but no reply yet so it might be looking good for you
the cassette is not Shimano, or if it is my un-do-er is the wrong one. Probably a screw-on freewheel rather than a cassette thinking about it. the wheels were originally 'Reebok' branded, so are quite shit. Man, my bike used to suck balls.
I also have some pedals to give away now, I think they're 80s, quite rattly bearings

I'm just changing my 23mm fixed set up for some 38mm single speed wheels
was going to build a winter hack but i need to stop spunking my money on bike parts. I have to buy some Campognolo Atlantas this weekend, because 2 weeks ago I promised to buy them and can't really back out. They're going to sit under the bed until next summer now :(

that was the funny thing, months ago some guy in a shop was trying to flog me a fixed gear by talking all this bollocks about 'being one with the bike'
if he just said 'yeah it's good fun and good exercise' I might have bought one of him that day
donut - i know what you mean, when I'm on a double and get an hour break, I go for a blast on my bike. Everyone else goes to a coffee shop to talk about the other members of staff that aren't working that day, tedious. They think I'm mental
