No doubt a stupid question, but what's the advantage of hanging up your bike?
(not directed at Sparky, more to do with those hangers you can buy)
if I left the bike on the floor in my 6 foot hallway, it would be in the way because of the handlebars
in the air it wouldn't be a problem
the hanging idea is winning at the minute

As my bikes have steadily got nicer over the last couple of months, I have started coming to the realisation that I am very soon going to have to leave something quite nice, outside to face the elements.
I can get away with a frame under the settee and wheels hanging in the airing cupboard, but when my new bike is going to be fully built I can't see it going down well if I say it MUST be kept indoors
I have tried weaning the mrs onto the idea of keeping a bike inside our 1 bedroom flat by just leaving my bike inside, working on it in the kitchen etc, but I know she's the opposite of keen on the idea.
My outside space is under a balcony, so it's not like leaving it in the open, but it's still exposed to a wet and constantly changing atmosphere
I'm considering getting a moped cover or something. In my last flat I had a similar situation for my motorbike and used a waterproof cover under a stairwell which worked okay, but not brilliantly
What do you do?

Cycling is making me poor, but that's due top my obsessiveness and passion for fiddling, fannying, making things shiny, buying stuff I dont need etc. My transport is my main hobby, so I don;t care if it costs me more than the tube.
If I had a car I would spend more on it just to keep it going, I don't know how people who don't have a very good job afford to run a car, it's a money black hole. At least with my bike parts I can flog them all again if I need to pay the rent.
My friend is now £14,000+ in debt because he wanted a Golf GTI. Dunce. If I had even £1000, I would have got a 125 motorbike again and possibly another bicycle, and have waaaay more fun

when my indicator bulb blew on my 125, I could only get clear bulbs to fit. I used an orange sweet wrapper, worked fine
