Changing host files does work, i ran CS2 for about 4 years hassle free.

I'm doing a photography BA (going into year 3 also) and often cautious friends say about how images using dodgy photoshop are traceable but i'm not too sure. If photography/editing is your main source of income then it's worth buying if not for the peace of mind, may be an incentive to use student discount as adobe are safe like that. Also updating isn't that much.

Hasselblad seemed to make pretty much every and any conceivable accessory for the 500 series (or so it seems at times) so I would be surprised if they didnt make one. You will pay a premium for it to have VH written on it lol.
Its worth noting that a lot of cable releases wont trigger Hasselbad bodies as they dont extend far enough

These cable releases are supposed to be very good (I believe they make Linhof's branded ones)

I do sometimes wish i'd went for mamiya when looking at the costs, but i guess that's a discussion for another day. It's good to know about some cables not being long enough, all useful information which is appreciated. To be honest i'm not that bothered about the groupset being exclusively VH, Linhof's equally as good for me.
