@JB - was looking at Sylous on the web yesterday - looks like a fantastic dog.
As usual, lots of staffies in there; such a shame as they are brilliant family dogs. This thread needs more dogs - I'll try and work out how to posy a pic of our staffie, Stanley.

Mr Hare would be my choice, except for the Vibram-type soles. Not under £300 but you said "try":

I have (what I think is) a nice coat from Rag&Bone - bought at Liberty for about £500. Same cut and style but in black and without the contrasting panels:

Thanks AndyP - I think the wife binned it - too many bad memories for her! She and the ambulance men trying to find me on an isolated river bank at 8am on a rainy Sunday morning.
Multiple displaced fractures of left ulnar and radius which were pinned+plated - 3 opps and 14 months later, still not right and don't really expect it to be now. Still, it could have been worse, I could have fallen into the river and drowned !

Just about to buy another myself Sparky - probably the one I posted.
I did have a Rapha LS merino baselayer but on 2nd wear it had to be cut off by a nice ambulance man so never really got to assess quality or durability, although I do know it didn't cope very well against scissors. I wasn't very happy for a variety of reasons ...

I've had a Howies NBL Light long sleeve for three years - no itch, comfortable, has kept its shape and worn well. £50 well spent.

Looks quite like the following - plenty of competition if you're interested:

Nice IWC. I've always had a soft spot for the Dubey & Schaldenbrand Carre Cambre. Something similar to this but with a silver case.

@rogerzilla - how's the S3X working out? I have one and am wondering whether or not to build-up.

Maybe you mean something like this:
