Another numpty.
Or, you could leave the personal attacks, and debate what I said, if you don't agree with it.
I'm not blaming the cyclist (or anyone) in this case, as we don't know the full facts, I'm just saying that being right in the eyes of the law really doesn't help me when I'm splatted across the road, hence it's good to assume other road users won't always stick to the law.
For example, what if the driver had had a heart attack and was unable to control the vehicle. Or what if it had a Toyota style braking failure? There are many situation where a driver might do something unexpected, but it's not their fault either.
Are you saying that you always stick to your right of way, and I'm a numpty for not doing so? In that case I'd rather be a numpty.

Give us hope, please explain.
Obeying the law doesn't make them blameless - it would have been sensible to slow down, given the fact they were entering a roundabout & that said roundabout had at least two cars approaching it - are you seriously disagreeing with that?
I have to agree with this. There are laws, and there is common sense.
I used to row on the Thames, with big boats coming past. As a non-motor boat I had certain rights of way, but I always remember what my coach said to me "Being right doesn't help if you are dead, stay the fuck away from other boats".
And that's the same principle I apply to cycling.

Places to go if you wan't to meet up with non-hipster trackbike people are the polocourt at Nørrebro Parken and the polocourt at Nørrebrohallen (both should show up on google maps). In the summer time the polo crowd often play from around 16pm to 20pm.
Yeah, I was staying in Nørrebro, but didn't get down to the park, which was a bit weak. Next time.

I'm going there in May for a week. I've been before, but never long enough to justify bringing or hiring a bike.
This time I would like to bring my bike, but for various reasons that's not going to be possible this time, so I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to hire a bike. A fixie would be great, but I guess that's unlikely.
Well I got a hire bike, just a normal danish city bike.
I hated cycling there though, I hate not being able to cycle on the roads, and everyone cycles at 2 mph.
It looks like the fixed gear scene has exploded there, last year I saw a handful the entire time I was there, this time I saw 20 on the first evening.
I also went to the track bike shop on the Rantzausgade. They had a good selection, though 50% of it was just BLB components.
Next year I will bring my bike for sure, even with the annoying cycle lanes.

I think you should get your keyboard fixed, it seems to have some problem with the exclamation mark key.
Anyway, John, for the 10th one, I assume it will be West to East... What about an organised East to West preride for that, I need to go that way anyway, so might as well make it more fun and do two bridges rides in one day. You could always go on the opposites sides of the river, so that it's not the same in reverse...

how bonkers am I for considering whether my bike is a tax deductible expense as self employed? I mean, I do really rely on the thing.
depending on your job it is.
If you rely on your bike (courier) you can claim the entire bike, otherwise you can claim a 20p tax rebate per mile you cycle. Not sure if you can do both.

I went there today for lunch.
Really nice sandwiches, I had a roast beef with rocket and horseradish, and a tomato/basil/mozzarella. £2 each. Also a really nice blueberry muffin.
They were really friendly, prices seemed reasonable for the area, and of course the workshop and big screen cycling is nice to have.
I will be going there again [/advert]
As mentioned in some other post, write it as if you were a retired sergeant-major from Tunbridge Wells.
