This kinda sounds like you're running the mtb version. They would behave that way due to different cable pull ratio.

It's a whole set, but not here yet. As far as I can tell it's calipers, levers, hoses, olives, and the brackets for frame/fork. I'll just have to wait and see if I need anything else.

1. Chiner forks 15x100, uncut. Used them on few bikes while waiting for proper forks. They'll take 29+ tyres with plenty of mud clearance. £15 sold

2. Ritchey carbon wcs xc disc qr forks. Can't even remember what I got them for. Good nick, plenty of steerer left for uber spacer stacks. You can fit 50mm tire in them. £80 sold

3. Truavativ 30.9x400 fugly seatpost. £5

Yeah I remember doing 3 framesets for £80 with them few years back. Now they want £140 for one.

The only immediate differences between my m6000 and m8000 are hose quality and routing. The deore caliper looks exactly like the older rs785 which is the no groupset specific brake that came with ultegra 6800 groupset.
The older deore I know nothing about.

No adapter, it sits directly on the fork. Using the rotor that came with the groupset. I didn't touch these brakes much since I got them. They came bled and set.
I discovered the crack while cleaning the bike. The rotor was covered in oil. Further inspection revealed that the piston is stuck and not retracting. Instead of pushing it in I took the caliper apart and pulled it out. I hoped that it's just dirty.
At least wiggle are not being difficult with the replacement. They must have seen it before.

Switching to v brakes you'll have to change the levers too. Something to do with cable pull ratios. I’d invest in compressionless housing too. Massively improved performance of my cantis.
1x8 with shimano megarange with 32 ring up front will work nicely if you don’t have massive hills to climb.
