Contractual obligation. ManU and every other league club are bound by contract to provide their manager for interview by the television companies who have rights to show games or highlights. If they refuse, they diminish to worth of the television rights. The Prem League has to take steps to ensure that the television companies and their audiences, are getting what they pay for. ManU benefit hugely from television money and should do as they are contractally obliged.
It's a new rule that was brought in at the start of the season, which is why it's only just hit the news. Taggart has refused to speak to the beeb since 2004.

I found the list below on the xda developers forum when the update first surfaced. Most of the changes seem to be bug fixes, but I like that changes to birthdays now actually synchronise with Google contacts and also being able to see the number of texts in each 'conversation' in the SMS inbox.
Just waiting for Froyo now!
*- Updates bootloader to 0.80 *
*- New radio image *
*- New youtube app with HQ option (1.6.20E). *
*- Fixed htc's weather widget (integrated into clock&weather widget) not knowing where you are (1.15.xxx just said the name of the country in some countries). *
*- SMS issue (from non-numerical senders) is resolved. *
*- fixed random contact showing when receiving operator SMS. *
*- fixes the voicemail bug for the French carrier SFR (short voicemail number used to call 911/emergency). *
*- Messages app now shows a count on the number of messages in the SMS inbox. *
*- calendar/contacts bug - unable to store contact's birthday - has been fixed. *
*- Long click on the menu button when in home screen now doesnt pop up the keyboard, like it uselessly did before. *
*- SMS reader does not show the little smiley androids any more - just the mere types. *
*- Exchange Company Address Book is now properly working. Was unable to use before the update. *
- They have disabled the snooze function on the Optical trackpad for calendar events. This means that it is now possible to have the phone in your pocket without accidentally snoozing the alarms. -

That's interesting ^
My contract with Tmobile is up this summer, and Ive almost brought new handset earlier this year, I held out this long.
However, I am a very heavy text user, so I find contracts are easier for me? (I dont use phone calls at all) but thinking to either go to O2 or Orange for their text rates. Oh and a HTC phone.
The only (minor) downsides to the O2 Simplicity bundles are that, even though they all quote 'unlimited texts', MMS messages are chargeable - as are voicemail calls.

£400 for the phone and I already had the Simplicty thing.
I'm not worried about the cost anyway, it's a business expense and blah blah it's just easier to buy a sim-free phone. Fuck plans. That's the old-fashioned way to buy phones.
I've changed provider to a Simplicity 12m contract and a PAYG Desire from 3 for £350. I got money back off the SIM contract through my employer which reduces the TCO. Because of this, I'm free to upgrade the handset whenever I want. O2 also seems to have the best policy on data/internet usage across all the networks.
Looking at other forums (fora?) there are lots of posts from people who are so desperate to get the phone for free that they will tie themselves into long contracts. Their TCO won't be be much less than mine, if not more.

Thanks mate. Still in shock.
Have you read this Peter? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article7101503.ece
Up the Dale!
Yes I have, thanks Ark. The author of the article also wrote a book about supporting the Dale, appropriately titled: 'Life Sentence'
I was there on May 10th 1969, but sadly couldn't get there on Saturday. Unfortunately sitting here now watching the news of us losing tonight's game and probably the league title to Notts County

Big respect and congratulations to Rochdale, finally promoted after 41years of being stuck in the last division :-)
Thanks for the thoughts! And ok,I know that it's splitting hairs, but it's 41 years since our last (and only previous) promotion. We managed to survive for 5 seasons in Div 3 before the inevitable relegation in 1974. So it's 'only' been 36 years in the lowest league ;-)

HTC DESIRE sim free (excellent review....people may become insanely jealous)
Chopper Harris says..... ;)
According to the 3 blog, they'll be selling the Desire unbranded/unlocked on PAYG for £349.99 from 20 April (apparently through their stores only)

Tallish, thin, dark hair, Blue vintage jersey with white panels on the side. Blue Campi cycle cap, white catlike helmet... very pale and ill looking.... last in every race? Ringing any bells?
Is this you?
Have visited the forum for a long time but hadn't signed up - went along on Sunday and took lots of photos (a few are on Flickr)!

I agree - why didn't he give the late penalty and a red card when Cech brought down Rodrigues?
