hi mate, not quite sure what you mean?
if i use a new chainring on my fsa cranks, it will make the chain sit 3-4mm futhur out from the centre of the bike...
to compensate this, i would have to have a narrower bottom bracket - and i was under the impression that the standard fuji BB was 103mm?
(unless its actually 110mm?, and then yeah - changing to a 107mm JIS sq taper, Should bring a replacement chainring back into line)

thanks a lot mate, thats the answer i was hoping for!
the advanced crankset/ring + miche BB is comming to £115 cringe
but i would end up having to spend 60-70 odd if i replaced everything with stock items (fsa veros, cheapie bb) - so may aswell bung the rest and get an upgrade - i guess!
riding fixed is not so smooth and zen-like with a chainring the shape of pringle!
cheers

so, if you used a miche primato advanced cranks/chainring, on the recomended miche BB, you should end up with roughly the correct chainline? because these products are designed to work together to create ~42mm chainline?
thanks for the help,
its just im struggling with 'what is compatible with what' (had a look throught the database too)....
essentially: i have a fuji track, with a knackered chainring and BB,
my options are
1/ replace everything with new stock items
2/ upgrade! - easier said than done! -

Hi, im riding a fuji,
having real trouble finding out about this 'dished chainring' bollocks,
my stock chainring is the shape of a pringle and needs replacing so i was looking at some 5 hole, 130bcd, 1/8th chainrings from various places, going to go with 49t...
but what needs to be done about this dishing issue? does this mean its not possible to change just the chainring on a stock fuji BB and the stock fsa cranks?
this means the whole bb/cranks/chainring assembly has to be completely replaced because i bent the ring? sounds silly!
anyone?

Courtesy of Mark Cavendish, fast, and full of graceful arrogance:
''When journalists at the Tour de France ask me if I am the best sprinter, I answer 'Yes', and that's seen as arrogance, but if they don't ask me, I don't say I'm the best sprinter in the world.''
''The fact is, you look at the replays of my wins at the Tour, and I'm the fastest sprinter. I'm stating a fact. It's not just me saying 'I'm the fastest sprinter' without backing it up - I'm stating a fact, you know? I don't see how that can be seen as arrogance when it's just telling the truth. But people can take me as they want? I don't give a shit really.''
''The others were all trying to save themselves for the team time trial. We were the only sprint team willing to take responsibility. All the other teams are riding like they're juniors and if they want to behave that way then they get results like juniors.''

Ah, haven't seen the black one, but used to see the blue one go past the selly park tavern occasionally if that was you, with a spoke card in the rear and bullhorns, may have been different back then,
I live in town centre now, riding a pretty much bog-standard fuji track with bullhorns and missing bar tape on the left until i can be arsed to buy some more
what is critical mass? is it in brum?

GLOVES, are the number one priority!!
get a decent set of winter/thermal cycling gloves - otherwise by the time you get to work your hands will be about as useful and two wooden spoons.
Also, from experience, unless you have a real good rear mud guard - take a spare pair of boxers (and dont cycle in trousers that you want to wear at work), because both will get soaked- and it will feel like you have shit/pissed yourself all day (unless you like this feeling of course!)
