I know, hence why I mentioned it earlier in response to Pasty and so to prevent the OP from buying a mech that doesn't really match their shifters. 5700/6700/7900 has a different cable pull so as per what I said in my first post any of the early non hidden cable 10 speed series work as does anything else before that all the way back to 7 speed except the DA 7/8 RDs.
-
-
For those shifters you can use any of the
7/8/9/10 speed Shimano RDs up to and incl the 4600/5600/6600 series, the pull ratio remained the same throughout (aside from the Dura Ace 7 and 8 speed) all the way up to the internal gear cable/later 10 speed series as you've found.I've actually got a NOS/bike pull 7 speed RSX (off a mid 90s Peugeot I had) that should work.
it has a replacement nut/washer on the cable retention bolt and a small mark on the rear plate but is otherwise unused.

Totally understand, I actually used a Stronglight 99Bis with my DA 7400 8 speed group as it allowed me to use much smaller inner and thus the 12-26 DA cassette was great even on some of the steeper bits.
For me it was an acceptable compromise though as you say the 7410s are one of the nicest crank sets, arguably the nicest in the Shimano range ever. -
Ah, the lovely 7410 crank set, I kept a pair of the titanium bolt/crank cap set for posterity from my 8 speed days!
There were some 37T 130mm BCD inner rings knocking around BITD, dunno if you can still find them though, another option to get a smaller inner is to maybe buy a tripliser big ring like this for instance https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Willow-Tripleizer-Chainring-Triple-Crank-Adaptor-Rivendell-130-bcd-46t/183805425281?hash=item2acba83681:g:RYIAAOSwZjJU2LBL you can then fit an appropriate 74mm BCD ring that suits your needs better. When doing this, say a 46/48 with a big drop then something like a Fd-6207 front mech works really well, didn't have problems with mine with early 10 speed STIs.luck hunting

Mint condition XS Spesh Sirrus Pro frameset
45cm c-t actual and 53cm effective c-c top tube, should be fine for someone about 5ft and upwards.
Carbon forks and seat stays, triple butted alu triangle and chain-stays. Frame takes up to 35mm tyres WITH mudguards and there's pannier rack drillings on the seat-stay as well as the std mounts for guards on the dropouts/forks.We've had Sirrus's for best part of 17 years, they are rugged as anything, my son has a Pro and I've got a Carbon Ltd (amongst others and the carbon stays/forks with the zertz dampner really does make a difference. Whilst 700C (possibly 650b) the bigger wheel offers greater stability for the smaller rider. BSC threaded BB shell 130mm OLN. It has V/Canti mounts, I use Avid 7s on my Carbon ltd but Mini Vs on my Globe Pro (very similar frame) and either are amazing stoppers that can suit whether you want flat or drops.
This will easily build into a 9kg super commuter/utility, leisure or touring bike.
Picture shows her built up but price is for frameset, seatpost, stem but I also have a ladies specific saddle I can include that is new.£230 posted, £220 collect North Herts

Tiagra 4700/4703 both for drops and flat bar (obvs), match to the pull ratio of the 11 speed 5800/6800/9000 rear derailleurs, just so you have more options to consider. There'a reference to an unofficial nod from someone from Shimano regarding this as well as bike shops having done it
https://forums.roadbikereview.com/components-wrenching/tiagra-4700-shifter-pull-ratio-355678.html
I'm going to put a higher spec rear D with my Tiagra trple STIs when I finally get around to building my ti touring/audx/n+1 so I'd already looked into it last year.105/5800 rear derailleurs are ten a penny on ebay selling as low as £6 incl post for used/usable ones, probably as vast majority are upgrading to R7000 or higher.

I've a pair of test ridden (around my estate road and back so circa 2.5 miles) Pro lite Bortola's.
17.5mm internal, I've had some ultra lightweight 40mm slicks fitted to them and they came up at just over 38mm actual (suspect the tyres were undersized anyhow). They have a new upgraded Novatec Anti bite freehub body bought from SJS plus there's the original Campag body should you wish to use that in the future. I've also a slightly damaged Shimano freehub body direct from Prolite that might be usable as one end section of the lockring threading was damaged in transit (or simply packed without any thought) and Prolite didn't want it back so might be able to rescue it with a bit of manipulation.
There are no QR skewers incl.

I've just bought my 10yr old grandsonhis first road bike and it's got 23s on it but would like to get a bit wider, I missed out getting some 25mm Kenda's from Halfords at £5 a go which is annoying but if anyone has something cheap they could post to Hertfordshire that would be great.
