You seem hung up on the notion that resources are spent on things you don't like, or that they are given undue hype. Hype is hype, doesn't mean anything, getting annoyed about who gets the hype isn't an avenue worth pursuing.
Mutually exclusive?
By too clever by half I mean that its all a bit knowing and sneery. A bit superior.
By not subtle I mean that showing the terrorists to be stupid isn't really laughing at what is funny, if anything is, about the existence of this sort of 'terrorist cell'. What's perhaps funny (or peculiar?), to me, is the response of shock and horror of the Daily Wail etc, who think the UK's inability to face up to its colonial history, political meddling and oil plundering in the name of freedom through military and 'intelligence' activities is somehow justifiable, and in no way myopic nor serves only the multinationals and their filthy-rich shareholders. It seems to me that it supports the idea that we are free and just 'democracy' and those naughty jihadis are simply barbarous, and wrong, no questions asked. That 'free trade' is some spurious end that justifies these means of war and state terror.Obviously, I haven't seen the film. So I'm talking a fair amount of bollocks as usual. I'm sure it will be intelligent and thought provoking. Just not funny. Probably.
I just see a 5+ sentence paragraph full of quotation marks.
(This is the channel that around 2000-2005 thought that Dermot O'Leary was, literally, god's gift to TV presentation, and would foist him onto productions that may or may not have suited him, in order to keep him visible, as a condition for the production securing broadcast. Alledgedly. And the same channel that has done pretty much the same thing with that godawful Big Brother woman, who is fucking annoying now please stop and get rid of her!)
Yeah there's a lot of hype around him, but Dermot O'Leary is still the greatest TV presenter of his generation.

He has a vortex pendant "the level on which they work is on quantum physics, so it's pretty sophisticated so I wont get into it here"
He's got on on his phone, on the fridge, round his neck..
The woman has a water de-ioniser, all her water is de-ionised. Now I work in a university chemistry dept. and we use de-ionised water in our experiments. It's widely advised that it's not for consumption. I don't know the details, and I'm sure it wont do much harm, but she's been sold it on the terms that it's good for her. Highly questionable?

I remember watching this programme "Health food junkies" on channel 4. A doc on people who follow raw food diet, a bunch of complete twats (who probably live in stoke newington or some variant thereof). One of them even starts talking about some pendant he has which quantum mechically makes a field which protects him.

Did anyone catch 'The Persuasionists' the other night? A new comedy starring Adam Buxton. It really was the worst thing i've ever seen, how it got commissioned for a six part series is quite amazing....
THis is the channel that kept recomissioning 2 pints of lager and a packet of zzzzzzzzzzzz

Careful Hauska. You might end up looking a prat getting high and mighty making claims without any foundation (again).

the benefit cooking or not cooking depends on the food. Because it has been found that our body absorbs more of compond X from food Y when raw, does not mean all raw food is better for you.
Just as some veg has been shown to provide more of a particular vitamin when eaten raw, so has the converse been shown that some veg provides more of a vitamin when cooked. Of course no one knows the variation of all vitamins/enzymes etc etc. of On top of that is whether it matters at all.
I remember ben goldacre mention he read an article advising we eat some particular leaf because it has oxygen giving qualities. He pointed out the obvious that it only produces oxygen in sunlight, which is clearly lacking in your large intestine.
