She's the Chairperson of RoadPeace
http://www.roadpeace.org/about/trustees/
I thought I knew her name.
I'll send a thank you there, in her name, and will also send the entirety of this year's tithe to RoadPeace too.
If she has a Charity, I'd like to make a small Christmas donation.
Just to remain true to my word I've made a donation to roadpeace this morning, she nearly had me to tears re-telling her story in the office this morning.

Carphone Warehouse has the Nexus 7 32 GB down to £179 and stock in stores.
Nexus 4 SIM free also in stock @ £389 :(
The N4 isnt in stock in stores & they are taking pre-orders
"FREE delivery to you(UK Mainland only) Pre order - stock coming soon"In the US Google started taking pre orders yesterday (With a 9 week lead time) - No news on when they are going to set up pre-ordering here though.
I'm also tempted by a Nexus 7 at that price.

Anyone tried these?

Rainbow the way to go I think

youtubes
"anvii" wheel AD: LED light painting on bicycle wheels - YouTube
I've got a set of the standard rainbow ones - I had them on an old Bridges Ride and CM (I was a early adopter). I have the design kit but only tried that once and tended to leave them on the standard patterns. (They havent been on my bike this winter)
They were cheaper than the competition at the time and came with 3 units to make a stronger pattern at a slower speed. They do add a bit of weight (9AA's + the units spaced around the wheel) and i got a pack of rechargeables to reduce the cost of running them.
I would recommend them, and anvii, but I've been thinking of selling mine as I'm not using them at the moment...

I've been hunting around to see if i can get a guestimate of the Nexus4 order time, to plan my day tomorrow.
If they aline it with one time zone I'm guessing it will be PST, so that would make it 8am here (Which fits with the launch at the O2 if you want one on a overpriced contract (But if you are amongst the first in the queue apparently you get to go up the O2 and get a LG tv))
However if its CET, at midnight, we could order at 11pm tonight...
...But i doubt that will happen, and its more likely to be a case of hitting refresh on the play store every 10 mins through the day

KenCycle prices to double...

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/11/07/boris-bike-prices-double-tfl_n_2087148.html
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/9660911/Cost-of-hiring-Boris-Bikes-to-double.htmlThanks, Just unchecked auto renew on my annual fee, I'm not using it enough @ £45, but i was going to carry on with the subscription for the odd trip, £90 is a big hike for an infrequent user (like me) who uses it less than once a week.

Carphone Warehouse has jumped the gun, putting the LG Nexus 4 up for pre-order on its website.
However the links not on their site now. It was only showing a 8gb one, I'm hoping that they have more storage options on the release date though, tempted to move from apple for one...

My GF saw a mouse in the flat the other night, so we have had some traps down for a couple of days, but so far it/they have avoided capture.
We are shortly going away for 4 nights, do I leave the traps down while its quiet, The only concern is that if we trap one on day one, what state will it be in, by the time we return 4 days later?
(We are using traditional traps and peanut butter*, which last time caught 3 within 30mins of putting the traps down)
*Not homemade

Here's a brilliant news video from 1938.
That video's wonderful.
Looks like red light jumping was a problem in back in 1938 too...
@ 1:28 re stopping at crossings...
"...That’s how not to do it, by deliberately doing the wrong thing the children learn how necessary it is to do the right..."
Followed by "...isnt that so inspector?" [So they also had junction watch back then too]
So maybe red light jumpers are simply deliberately doing the wrong thing to learn how necessary it is to do the right.

A DUCK tour boat ran over one of our ride marshals in 2007, minor injuries and the bike was trashed.
One of those duck tour boats over took me with little room to spare on the way home tonight and would have pushed me into the curb/gutter or worse if i didn’t brake to let the beast in (I was in primary).
They don’t appear to have much visibility (but it is left-hand drive so the driver had no excuse, he just laughed when i caught up and called him a cunt)
What’s worse is those steps at the back of boat, they could easily wipe someone out – surely they can’t be legal on the road?

I'm thinking of placing an order for one of these
http://www.wittons.co.uk/product_inf...1&i=B000ONGE6M
- I only need one but happy to order more to save on postage costs.
(or Has anyone found a UK supplier)
I've just ordered a couple of these, I only need 1 but got a second that I'll pass on for half the extortionate postage cost they are charging.
- I only need one but happy to order more to save on postage costs.
My phone call to google...
Me: When is my Nexus4 order going to ship?
Google: I don’t know
Me: your automated response while I was on hold said "all orders will ship within the time quoted when you purchased"
Google: Yes that is correct
Me: So my order will ship by Tuesday next week, as my email at the time of order says shipping within 1-2 weeks?
Google: No we don’t know when the next stock is going to be available
Me: So the automated/hold message is incorrect?
Google: No all orders will ship within the time quoted?
(This circular conversation went round a couple of times)
Me: So will the order ship next week?
Google: I don’t know when the next batch of stock is due.
Me: Ok, if you don’t think you will dispatch my order within the time frame I suggest you update your hold message.
Google: OK we will look into that
Me: OK, I’m guessing I won’t get it before Xmas then?
Goggle: "All orders will ship within the time quoted when you purchased"
Me: Thanks for your help goodbye
[I don't hold much hope of getting it before Xmas]
