As for Open Pros, the only place I can see them under thirty quid is Ribble, as long as you buy two (or at least spend more than £50 in the transaction). No stock though. Thinking about Rigida Chrinas instead - very similar cross-section and a lot cheaper

i'm not sure it is related but i spoke to a cycle shop today about wheel builds and they basically told me that Mavic are starting to insist on a sole uk distributer and only supplying to the big bike shops, doesn't sound too promising for stock levels in general if you are looking for a good price.

was just looking to buy one and I have the same ratio, cheers for letting me know!

is there a uk source for the tool mks make for removing the dust caps from their pedals?

otherwise is it just a case of using a set of pliers and somethig to protect the cap?

thanks for the info Mr Bump, the sheldon home made tool worked fine though.

i was surprised how easy it was to remove, must of got lucky.

thanks for the advice thebrick, ive got it off, it did need a bit of a whack with the hammer and punch, now to try sheldons tool to remove the fixed cup...

and am i right in thinking it is going to be a conventional thread?

i tried using a flat head screw driver, hammer and WD40, no joy though, can't see the pin spanner giving me much more leverage but has to be worth a try

does anyone on the highstreet sell those pin spanners?
