Has anyone got any experience of these Tibia cranks, or do I just go for it? Fits me budget.

In short, I'm sure the shop will want to help and get you back on the road the quickest way possible, any good bike shop will look after you the best way they can. The shop may have their own policy on this already. I have always received impecable service from my LBS, it pays to be loyal.

Legally, the manufacturer states the conditions of the warranty (not us, not the shop, not your aunty) and they state if an item they produced is a failure they will repair or replace. They have the last say.

If you go in like a bull in a china shop......well, do I need to say anymore?

£165 a pair, a great budget set, however, don't expect them to take much of a bashing, the build quality may be good if hand built, but the rims are flexi compared to others.

A stronger rim is heavier plus the weight is at the out side of the wheel.

But he'll be riding a rim with spokes and a hub surely? It will depend on those components as well as to the weight of the wheel....

I'm thinking of one of a Soma Buena Vista for my missus. Birthday in August - if she's luicky it will be an early present.

Why 36h? If you buy strong enough rims you won't need 36h, that just makes them heavier really.
