hello,
after smashing up my leg and ankle last year, i now have minimal movement in my ankle, due to all the soft tissue damage (basically bust the capsule, tore every tendon, ligament and lost a whole load of muscle).I am working hard at physio, but am also thinking of trying acupuncture. Has anyone had good results or know of a good person to go to? (either london or dorset).
thanks!

glucosamine, chrondroitinn and cod liver oil. rosehips tablets are supposed to be good to.
physio is a must, try and do strenthening exercises as much as possible. swimming is great. i have also invested in one of those trampettes, which lets you exercise without the stress on joints, and you can do it in front of the tv...
they also say that plants from the nightshade family (tomatoes, aubergines etc) are not good for arthritis. something to do with the acid or something.
good luck with it and definitely get it seen to - it will be worth it in the long run.

cats are pretty tough. most animals are. i once saw a lamb that had been stuck under a heavy metal gate for hours. it's pelvis was totally spatchcocked. lifted the gate off it, thinking it would be paralysed. picked it up, then put it down expecting it to collapse. it woddled for the first few steps, shook itself then ran off. totally fine.
so hopefully the cat is just bruised....

Heard a friend talking about a bike he'd bought off of gum tree a few weeks ago, and he said it was obviously stolen as it was completely customised, worth about 5 times what the guy was asking for it. He then started to say how he had sprayed the frame and put stickers on it etc so it would be less recognisable. at this point i got a little cross, and asked if he knew it was stolen, why did he still buy it? he gave some crap excuse, to which i replied that i hope it was stolen off of him when he was miles from any public transport. someone had probably put a lot of effort and money into that bike just for some scumbag to nick it.
so here is the moral dilemma... you have seen a bike, normally worth about £600 going for £100. your bike got stolen, it wasn't insured and you've got very little spare cash. do you buy the cheap bike?!?!?

am not going to join in the advertising debate (much) but i am not the biggest fan of the industry...
usually Duffy sounds ok, but how did no one notice how bad she sounds in the edit? how is that warbling going to sell anything?!?!?
and who was they stylist?
and i bet it cost hundreds of thousands to make. ridiculous.

This is my first bike related hospitalization. And thinking back on it, I don`t believe what a sniveling mess I was wondering what happened.
I can sort of understand why Duncan thought I helped when he came down on Saturday - all I did was talk to him. I could have done with a friendly face. .
get well, glad it's not too serious
when I was hit, i remember screaming my lungs out and then hearing myself and thinking 'shut up, you sound ridiculous!' crazy! i think much snivelling is allowed!!!!
it makes such a difference if someone comes and talks to you/holds your hand. the first ped to me came and saw me in hospital twice which was so kind. made me think a little better of the human race!
hope you heal well, and take it easy x

I am ok. Thanks a lot. It must be terrible for her family and friends.
I feel like when I had a bad car accident few years ago. It took a bit of courage to be on the road again. The images of Friday keep coming back. I am sure they will fade away.
This morning I could not stop myself telling off a girl on a bike about her stupid headphones. And tonight reminding a guy of his motorbike's lights being off.
A good bit of advice my psychologist gave me was when you get a flashback, touch something with a definite feeling (hot, cold, very soft, sharp etc) that will bring you back to the here and now.
i think it's great that you are educating people - you may be stopping another accident.
take care.

Where are your bridalways? Suspension is very rarely necessary but more advantageous in some places than others. In the south east of the uk mos brialways are very easily done without suspension. The odd one is a little rocky but it rare and only for a short section.
SW coast... want to be able to take it most places when i get more adventurous...

my housemate is the photographer for the london paper - will try and get her to come along.
i'd love to come along, but think i will probably be in cornwall. i still don't have a bike of my own again yet... saving up....
i like the idea of everyone in white - reckon it would make an amazing visual impact.
