funnily enough, I chosen the touring rims because I know it would be strong enough to carry heavy load, especially the missus on the rear rack.

the original wheelset on the Globe Haul were pretty beefy, if those can hold, the Mavic should be plenty.

on another note, i was looking at bikes similar to that recently for a friend.

troll or not, it really is unbelievable. there isn't a detail lacking. it couldn't be made more steaming without upsetting the authenticity. a single adjustment and it's ruined.

Here's my current project:

Mu newst project is to convert a Telfer time trial frame in a fixie for urban use. I have changed the fork (650c) in order to use a 700c wheel and get a more upright position. The front went up around 2 inches. Besides that, I am using a Nitto Periscopa (+35 degrees) and long quill stem to get a more confortable position to ride on streets. However when climbing on hilly streets the stability is compromised.

Any suggestion for improving stability and maintaining the confortable position. Thanks for your help.

You are either a complete quiffer or you're trolling. there are no other possibilities

spockets wear out when wornout chains are left on drivetrains. you can either use a super tough expensive chain like the Izumi NJS "Super Toughness" Track Chain (amoung others. this is the one i have experience with). or you can replace your chain often.

no sprocket will last with a worn out chain.

same for cogs.

Trick wheels are finished. Pleased with them for my first ever build.
Chainreaction came through with some tyre bargains! I got a pair of michelin citys, tubes and rim tape for less than £30 delivered in the sale.
I've gone for 47c not just because of the super-cushion; but the larger outer diameter means I can run a lower gear ratio and not spin like a madman (28/13 is the plan).

ummmm well then you still aren't running a low gear inch because.... ah fuck it.

it's a beater. If you can get it rolling smoothly without gears and get the posture comfortable, you'll have made the most of it. i have a few bikes like that laying around for friends.

you should definitely get a new fork. it's not safe that way. Steel doesn't crack and fail suddenly, but a dented fork can buckle pretty unexpectedly, sending you over the bars. i've seen it happen.
