I wonder if i need the wide ones. the buckle is already at full extension because my feet are big/tall at the bridge. The very vague achy sensation is coming from my two smallest toes on the left foot.
What do you reckon about braking in Murtle? Obviously i don't want to HTFU and then later, once they're un-returnable, find that they aren't right.
thats sounds small man. Mine aren't even close to that. This is not the impression I had from your original post. i would send back for a size up/wider.
Mine are cranked down all the way, and i never ever have any kind of toe crunch. Mine go from snug and stretch to slightly too big. I was thinking yours would go from slightly too snug, and stretch to perfect. thats not my impression anymore.

We just got a really nice 3Rensho TT. Check the brake behind the BB.
that doesn't look set up correctly. Seems to be missing some housing.
this forum has surprised me before, though.

==========
I've noticed 'chain stretch' on all the chains I've used. Granted these have all been at the cheaper end of the scale: izumi, sram and KMC. Not so long ago I had to find a magic gear for my first vertical dropped frame and used a fresh(and cheap)! KMC. STretched half an inch in about a week. I then switched to a chain about two years old (sram + pre-stressed) that has the same number of links but is about a sixth inch shorter and has done me well since.
Chains stretch!
I've had similar mysrterious break-in periods with some chains. I just don't talk about it. it's a dead horse though right?

Christ, is that just to protect the chainstay from chain slap? faints
I'm think that I might put my name down in a couple of years, get one when I'm 40.
all legitimate touring bikes have spare spokes somewhere on the frame. I guess he's using his for chain slap as well. pretty clever.
Vanilla are beautiful, but i think they are kind of over the top. My heart belongs to ANT cycles.

long story, short... i was in a hurry. end up taking a corner too quickly and flew off a 3 foot drop. Being in a turn + trying to slow down on a brakeless fixed + inadvertently landing a 3 foot drop = lot of force on the front end. If i hadn't been trying to slow down when i landed i would have been just fine. I was really exhausted and in a huge hurry it all just went to embarrassment quickly.
yea i smile... trust me! just not after 8 hours of driving while listening to a shitty book on tape.
oh i have an IRO Marv V with a big basket, a Cervelo Soloist, and a Clifcat Tankass. plus some other randoms.

so, just picked up my fuji track, and omg the pedals are shite, also dont like the plastic toe clips.
coming from a bmx/mtb background, ive always just used flats, even racing xc (was worth it for the comments).. anyway, are they really that import for fixed, if im not that bothered about skidding??
just asking, cos these are gonna drive me crazy
pete get good pedals, clips and high quality double straps. i grew up with BMX and riding MTB with platform pedals... I know you think you've got all the bike control in the world, and i'm sure you do, but this is different. you'll need and want some retention.

Totally pointless wanky anecdote:
I've got a cheapy Cateye one that goes absolutely apeshit when I cycle past the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital or the Us Embassy (probably cos of all the electromagnetic shite they're pumping out).
I'll bet none of you fuckers can boast a recorded top speed of 134.6 MPH
My iPhone turns off and reboots whenever i walk by the hospital here. Sounds weird, i know, but I've noticed it 5 times because the only time i walk by there is when i'm leaving work and I've driven my car, which is rare, and during that time I invariable pull my phone out of my pocket.

are you talking to yourself now? you're taking this hard, aren't you?
