Need something fairly simple, two channels/decks and will be using mouse rather than a MIDI controller, although I do have an M Audio controller I could use if needed.

Was thinking of Traktor Duo - any takers?

i have recently bought a numark omni mp3 controller, which comes with traktor le.

traktor le is a bit mickey mouse, but is delibrately made to be a bit shit to encourage you to pay for the upgrade. it does the job though.

having always been a vinyl purist, this is my first experience with mp3 mixers... the omni is very basic and knobs and sliders are cheap feeling. but you can pick one up for just over 200 quid now, so cheap controls are par for the course.

i have no room for decks to be set up where i am now and all my vinyl (apart from 2 boxes) is in storage. the omni takes up no space and i just need to plug it in to my laptop if i fancy a little mix. you still get the same good feeling when dropping some tunes ... always put a smile on my face.

as for playing at mates parties or even bars/clubs, you can just plug it into any spare channel on the existing mixer and off you go. beats lugging vinyl about!

i think i am sold on mp3 mixers. "record" shopping is instantaneous now... and everything is always in stock, all the time... it is not the same as vinyl and will never give the same experience when playing and mixing tunes. but it sure is better than nothing.

i was winning this for a while, but luckily got outbid in the last 30 seconds...

i loved the idea of it, but didn't really have the space for it and it would have cost me a fortune to go and collect it.
