i have been using a panasonic gv 400 - released a few years ago, on ebay from between £450 - 600.

Been outbid on 2 in the last 2 weeks!! I have used the schools one, which i bought from a budget for sports filming and well my own use!!

gave it back today :(

it is 3ccd but in all honest performs as good if not better than a lot of camcorders in the £1600 range. The low light capabilities are awesome...

funnily enough, panasonic worked closely with surf film makers to come up with features and tech that would best suit that type of filming... unfortunately it's predecesor the gv 500 was just shit, these guys seem to mess it up a lot. The other camera known for it's amazing ability is the sony trv 900, very rare to find but great qulaity.

i am afraid i look to be getting this new 24p HD stuff, not sure on it though, will have to do some research, again, panasonic have a lead on this for decent price, think their camera at the £800 is amazing quality, uses mix of 3ccd and hd and has massive hardrive.

tootalltim is the bomb at this shit and could help you out with this sort of stuff, production guru

got rik's sprinters on and they are pretty nice, the rallies are good and yeah after a mistake of buying the giro's they destroy the feel, well there isn't a feel.

want some all black tyres though, something high tpi... condor seem to have some good ones but alas £65 a tyre - yowzers

Germany is one place i didn't get to explore enough while here in europe. I am flying back to oz next week so... would have been a laugh, god that was a crazy night.

I remembered after writing that reply, that the the mrs made me go on one of those spinny carnival rides and i remember thinking "oh shit" but handled, no spew while on or after (well, until the train). We accidently walked into the gay tent, full on blue oyster bar moment from "Police Academy" as everyone, i mean hundreds, staired as we walked down through the entrance and without hesitation just did a straight right and out the next door, seemed like along time before the band started playing again, haha, weird shit!! Also remember a lot of gay fella's french kissing and me and my mrs being mesmarised by it, weird and wonderful times man...

Geez a few of the crew on here should do it for a laugh, remember hang in the german tents, quality - the germans we sat with took us in and looked after us regardless of the language barrier...
