Last night, the simple act of two people stopping and helping a rather shcked rider who had been knocked down by a hit and run driver, appeared to help. Having some tangible aid to provide assisted. The chap had a nasty graze. A plaster and the act of strangers providing support appeared important.
I was glad to have had the first aid kit to hand.
well i hope you don't find yourself in the situation that you need one, but really, think about it again. you seem to be home by 6 every day.
sorry but that's bull.
Don't get me wrong - I see huge importance in first aid training and people stopping to help and so on (I've done so myself many times)
What I don't see the point in is carrying a tiny kit around just in case. Stopping and helping will of course make a difference. Proper training will make a difference. Calling the ambulance will make a difference. A few plasters won't.

I really don't see the point in a basic first aid kit - most of them can only treat things up to a minor cut or graze which might as well just be disinfected at home and then left to heal on its own.
Anthing more serious than that and you start getting into the need for proper training and carrying >2 kilos of kit - might as well call the pros.
I see the point with things like climbing and more remote activities but with cycling in London you'll either just have a few scrapes or you'll have been hit by a car and thus will need the blues and twos (see what to do in an accident thread)

Currently rocking some SWRVE skinnies that I think are still on sale from the mozz site - a little tighter than my normal TopShop skinnies but twice as comfy for riding and I get the feeling I won't tear the crotch out of them within 2 months.
Nice and stretchy, although they did stink of rubber when I got them...
Reccomended though
