Office for Mac is actually very good, I have had the old and new versions and they're both the best Microsoft product I've ever used. iWork will 'get you by' but really, you'll be wanting Office.
Bootcamp allows you to run Windows on your Mac on a separate partition of your hard drive, you choose which OS you want to work in on powerup. I used the Beta and it worked very well, but I think there are better alternatives around now.
As for AntiVirus I've been a mac user for a decade and never ran any. Never had a virus or worm. This said, with apples current popularity rise it probably won't be long before you'll want some peace of mind.
Of course for other security reasons you should keep your firewall up, it is turned on by default but if you wanna check it's in system preferences > security > firewall.

I had a go on one of the bikes from http://www.cytronex.com/ at an 'eco transportation expo' last year, it was a lot of fun to ride around a carpark on, and didn't look any different from a normal commuter bike except for the massive front hub.
They're not my cup of tea, but for elderly/partially disabled, even lazy people! I think they're a really good idea.

I did AS in Maths and 'Further Maths'... but dropped it and went to Art School!
I'm about to finish my BA in Arts too. 17 days to go til hand-in! It must be said that I too think of it as a bit of a mistake. I probably should've waited until I knew what I wanted to do before going into such a specialist BA. Still don't know what I want to do... I just know it isn't Graphics, most of my final year output has been 3D, and I have a budding interest in moving image.
So if anyone here happens to have advice for me, that too would be gratefully received :D
Education thread?

My silly little brother got himself a puncture whilst 14 miles away, he didn't take his kit or a spare tube with him, and all this on the day after he lost his wallet, cards, money, etc.
Anyway, he called me on his mobile to explain where he was, and that he had a puncture, then got cut off. His phone battery was also dead! Organisation isn't his strong suit.
Later he called on a payphone and during more details he got cut off. I tried to call the payphone back, but it just cut off without even calling.
I have tried calling BT, but it's a saturday and the office is closed. I also don't have a landline so can't call the operator to ask nicely if I could be put through. He's probably started walking on now but can anyone confirm that calling payphones no longer works?

notice i separated the items in my list only by commas, and also that i didn't precede the last item with 'and'? that was to imply that there were many, many other things that made this movie awesome.
However, a full stop makes an appearance, ending the current line of thought. If you had more things to list you would have ended with ellipses (...), non?
