I donate plasma every 4 weeks, I find it has less of an impact on my riding than donating whole blood. My total donations now over 90.It is a regular check on blood pressure and iron count.

They approached me about 'platelet donation', what's the deal?

They said something like being able to donate whole blood then inbetween that and the next hole blood session they'd take my plasma....

Does it take longer? are there more checks? what are impacts on your health afterwards?

tip: you will donate a lot quicker if you cycle hard to the donation center, get your heart going a bit!

The reason I haven't been for so long is a silly reason too. It's just because it's not a mainstream drug it hasn't been tested and approved for blood donation, even though the way it works it should only be in your bloodstream for a few hours of every other day.

Seriously guys it's important stuff. Not to mention it's very very good for you (helps your body deal with quickly replenishing blood if you get hurt).

I think a permanent Donor Center is a good bet if a group of us are to go. You don't need appointments and as far as I know they are only busy at lunchtimes in the more central London ones.

I've never been to the tarck, but have been told I don't need to be there for the induction at 9, but can just rock up at about 12 for a 'forum induction'.

Hope this is true as i'm spending the first few hours of today working on this hangover.
