caught citygent on my way into peckham this eve, timed a light wrong just before edwardes and he was off into the distance. catch you at se sometime innit.
I think we lost each other at the lights by burgess park, you went through on a red (but green man for peds in every direction). I am a bit scared of that junction though, cus a couple a months back a skip lorry took out a lady rider minutes before I arrived, didn't like that image.
Anyway, I later caught you out the corner of my eye as I was going up the outside of all the traffic, saw you trying to negotiate a rangerover and thought "ah he'll be there a while" so carried on home. Nice seeing you, though. A few of the commuters gave the double Edwardes' funny looks ;/

ummm Mussolini?
I'd say on par with, yeah.
For those that thing that Berlusconi is just using his power for women and drugs, fucking LOOK. He is destroying their country through his corruption of the media. This isn't a joke, it's fucking working. In the middle of Europe... for all our advances as society, we are allowing this to happen?
Personally, I find it terrifying. We need to sort him out before the rest of the world leaders get any ideas.

White Tifosi, dayglo rims, riding up camberwell grove, nice chat! As I was saying; I'll pick up a new roadie when I have the dollar... If I can resist buying myself some steel track deliciousness.
Also, yesterday I spoke to someone on Lordship Lane, said he lived in the surrounding streets, and knows of the forum cus I DAS'd and he replied "when you do a wheelie... fuck off". Come along to south-easties! There are a few of us in Dulwich D:

I don't see how a different memorial would be anymore accessible to those sectors of the public who don't understand the ghost bike?
I think the GhostBike program is fine and should be supported, abandoning it for a competing program would just be confusing and unhelpful. It'd be more helpful to suggest improvements for the GB scheme.

Yes, pedestrians are suicidal and there are times when you simply can't avoid hitting them.
But most of the time you need to ride like one is going to step out from behind a van at any moment. I remember Wookie (of Cyclone and Scream fame) not being impressed by how upset I was that peds kept walking out in front of me. I was pretty mad when he told me that it was my fault for not riding like I could hit one at any second, but after I mellowed out and took his advice I've only ever run into them when they ran into me (happened twice, that)Yep, it was a pretty nasty accident but it has certainly stopped me racing around, especially where there are parked cars, or dense traffic close to crossings. Use accidents to make you a safer rider!

Speaking of the green cross code, I hit a pedestrian on Friday afternoon. He stepped out in front of a car leaving me with no time to attempt to stop.
Similar happened to me, woman stepped out between two buses in traffic about a meter in front of me, there was no way I could've stopped but panic braked and found myself on the floor with concussion. Didn't get her name as the bike was undamaged.... regret that now, I later had a seizure (as a result of concussion) which meant I had to surrender my licence for a year, I worked for a carclub at the time and therefore ended up sacrificing a lot of work until they could find me another position. It put me in a bad place financially and for that, despite not liking 'litigation culture' on the whole, I would've taken the idiot to court.

Actually I've noticed, that as a result of doing far less miles now (my commute has shortened from 30mi a day to 9), I am not able to drink as much coffee, or alcohol or smoke, for that matter. I've managed to keep my weight stable by being sensible with how much I eat now, but 'poisons' certainly take a lot longer to wear off the less fit I am.

Interesting idea! I have no idea if it would work, but I can't see a reason it wouldn't, on 9speed chain etc...
I reckon you just need to give it a try. THe only problem would be the rear freewheel sprocket, I dunno how sensitive the design of the teeth on the sprocket is to a chainline when moved by a front mech...

That certainly looked painful.
