Cool, be good to see this happen. Same with Farnborough for Cam. Play and others might come. Actually there was a tiny town in NZ which recently started up with just enough players for a game. They decided to hold a tournament to celebrate the start of their scene. They invited other teams from around NZ in the hope that a well attended tournament would help drive local interest for new regular players. Good idea.
Todd, for now, we can do a 1 on 1 cosmic demo this weekend mate ;-)

John, yes that was our intention in the first place. But the truth is it's all become a matter of timings and committing a minimum of 5 days to this tournament is hard for us currently.
I respect the Krakow club for stepping up and organising the Euro's this year, but the dates have been announced at such short notice its made going only harder.
Anyway, enough said, lets move this thread along.
-
No way Toddy. Ignore the past few pages, it's just internet bullshit as always.
Hey Ben, thanks, but this decision has got nothing to do with the content from the last few pages.
Although we appreciate the discussions voiced and that some people would support giving cosmic a wild card spot, we never actually wanted or asked for that. We simply were voicing our initial frustrations with the wild card allocation process.
I believe it would not be fair for cosmic to get any special treatment either. And I certainly wouldn't want to take another teams opportunity of getting to the euros away from them because we got a free spot.
The reality is right now other responsibilities have to take priority for cosmic. As Todd said, maybe things will change closer to the euros wild card date, but we probably have to accept that we can't attend every major tournament - no matter how much we'd love to.
-
So Cosmic can't play wild card?
It's our only option...You could only play if the uk agreed it somehow. Or steal the irish wild card!
I thought the whole point of a wild card was that it was open to all, regardless of county of origin.
Point is that for what ever reason the team didn't qualify through way of their national automatic allocation process, so they get a second chance.
An open wild card tournament therefore gives every team the opportunity to get into the Euros on a legit basis.
But I'm not running the Euros, so guess we'll have to wait for a poll and hope the result goes in our favour. But then that sounds wrong too.
The polo pick up life is so much less stressful!

Hello London - I miss you guys!!!
Yes, stevie and I went halves on a pair of arm warmers - polo hipsters, get on them!
The tournament was awesome. Best set up I've ever experienced.
Polo is so new in NZ but the scene here really did their research and put the right things in place. I hope it set a marker for polo here for it to grow from.
The overall quality of polo was awesome too. Australasia is really pushing to get in the mix. I hope those who qualified for the worlds make it out there and make a mark for themselves, there's certainly a lot of polo passion out here.
Unfortunately the tournament final was a washout, but nasfwg deserved the win. Solid all weekend.
I feel honoured to have spent 3 months playing / hanging with all the scenes on route to the tournament.
Im stoked to come away from all this knowing that polo is just as awesome on your home court as it is on those of others.
@Magic, thanks for the package. Down low polo brought me 1 mallet. But I bloody bent it on my bloody bars in pick up on day one, so had to revert to the NS badger gave - sorry. But hey, the new magic head and golf grip felt awesome!!
Onwards now to NA.
Hope the winter league has been fun for everyone!
