I live between Viccy Park and London fields and I think you will be alright as long as you use common sense. TBH it seems to me Haggerston is worse for menacing looking gangs and bike thefts than Hackney at the moment and the park is going through a huge pre olympic spruce up so aint too bad.

Is it safe to lock your bike up at Bethnal Green underground?
It seems that loads of people leave their bikes locked up outside Bethnal Green tube then presumably go to work for the day. Does anyone have much experience of whether it is a safe thing to do. Its a dodgy area but is it public enough that there is not much trouble?

Without trawling through 1300 odd posts can i ask what qualification GA2G has as someone to talk about locks? It seems fair enough to be into starting lists but does he have some form of engineering background or does he work for one of the manufacturers?
Otherwise would we not be better to use common sense and the actual manufacturers guidelines and leave the personal opinions on what other people do/can afford/feel comfortable with out of it?

I’m the cinematographer on an ultra-low budget indie feature, currently titled “Ruadhan the Bard” to be shot in Scotland in June.
I’m writing to you to enquire whether xxxxxxx would be able to offer me a quote on a 35mm lens adaptor compatible with a Sony EX1. I used a Letus 35 extreme on a past shoot but I was dogged by vignetting issues. I wonder whether you’d be able to give me a quote on any other models?
We’d be looking to hire the adaptor between the 6th June and the 4th July. In addition to the actual adaptor itself I’d need bars, a handheld rig and a follow focus.

Aaaaagghhh, missed the booking deadline, stupidly had no idea that tickets would be allocated a year in advance?!
The only events I'm really keen to see are track and boxing. Any ideas? Can you sign up to help out and get access that way?
I'm not suprised you missed it, there was hardly any publicity or huge billboards or newspaper articles or rolling news coverage of the closing date for ticket applications!
I think that once they draw lots for the tickets there is some option to return ones you do not want or need then they are put up for sale again at a later date. I am not sure whether it will be another lottery or previous applicants will be given priority but keep an eye on their website...

I stupidly sent my charger away with someone else's camera kit and now it has ended up in Poland on a job for a month!
Does anyone (preferably Hackney way) have a charger i could borrow to charge my spare battery? Will happily come round and leave my battery charging till its done or leave something as a deposit to take it away but should only take a couple of hours to charge.

I understand that theres a Linux family. Details I'm not sure on. I know you have GNOME and Unity which are what you see on the screen and not in the terminal. But how does GNOME shell work on Ubuntu unity?
