War Z is getting some pretty atrocious reviews and comments about the company making it and their marketing makes it look dodgy. I would avoid until hearing great things about it.
On the other hand, Crusader Kings II is on sale for 75% off on Steam. I have really gotten into this game and highly recommend it. It is inappropriately named though, I've logged almost 70 hours on it and never once bothered with a Crusade. It's a brilliant strategy game but not just based on war.

I've been running to work a lot lately and it's about 11km which works out about the same. I've been enjoying it, but I'm not able to really do it both ways more than one day a week, or twice if I push it. Otherwise I just start flagging way too much by the end of the week.
It works for me. I have to stretch loads though or I'll get too stiff and sore a few kilometres in. I got a foam roller which has helped loads, especially in the colder mornings.

Finished The Walking Dead games and I was really impressed with them. I'll go through it again sometime and make different choices and see what happens. They are surprisingly gut wrenching at times.
FTL has dominated a few of my evenings in the past couple weeks. That game is ridiculously addictive and I just discovered there are mods for it as well. Fffuuu
Picked up Crusader Kings 2 on sale and really want to understand it. I'm enjoying what I'm doing so far, but it took watching an hour's worth of YouTube videos just to understand the basic interface and get started. I'm still clueless about warfare and dealing with the machinations of my horrible family, but I'm going to soldier on.

This thread. I'm clearly too old, too uncool. All these tumblr pictures everybody gets turgid over leave me feeling meh. Just cause you can do something, doesn't mean it's a good tattoo. Loads of these pictures are looking like Threadless tees designs.
Not trying to piss on anyone's parade, just really perplexed at a lot of this. There have been nice things in the thread, imo etc, but lately... too flavour of the month. Is anyone actually getting work done in these styles or is it just a 'this is somewhat interesting' thread?

I've just downloaded this running app:
https://www.zombiesrungame.com/
Going to give it a whirl tomorrow. "Turn on thrilling zombie chases that force you to speed up to escape the hordes!"
Even if it's rubbish it's got to be a chuckle pretending to be a survivor in the zombocalypse while running about in the park.
I have this app. I've only used it on a single 40 minute run while on holiday though, so didn't get far into the story and didn't use the GPS so don't know about the speed tracking.
It tells a story that doesn't seem to be too bad. There's a settlement and a guy on the radio that directs you to pick up supplies and run different places like a hospital. It's not badly acted and it seemed good for what it is. The story comes on in between songs on the iPod so it would play a song, then do a couple minutes of story, then song and repeat.
I think you collect supplies as you run too, because there's some robot voice that would tell me I was picking up bottles of water as the music was playing.
I haven't used it much because I've been using a Nike app that tracks my pace. I should give this one a go again.

Don't know if this was posted elsewhere, but seems appropriate here. Michael Barry calls for restructuring cycling.

I finally finished Mass Effect and have been playing 2 now. I'm way behind the times.
It's starting to feel somewhat repetitive. Get mission, go to some planet, shoot a bunch of baddies and get a new squadmate. Now get a loyalty mission, go to another planet, shoot a bunch of baddies and they've got a new power. Repeat over and over.
It's keeping me going but the story doesn't seem as interesting so far. And the hacking minigames are mind numbing wastes of time.
Also, I wooed the blue alien in the first game and she's acting all cold and distant now. Think I'm going to donk my personal assistant.

I've been sneaking around in dishonoured and enjoying it, but not as much as I had hoped. I think it had been hyped so much that I was expecting something greater. I'm trying to force myself to use new powers. The blinking behind people and knocking them out has proven pretty overpowered so far.
It's fun but Deus Ex Human Revolution was much better for sneaking/powers/upgrades. The idea and the world is neat.

I think I left around 9ish. It was a great evening, and I've come around to appreciate some Highland Park more.
I never realised it was all sherry finished which is probably part of the reason I've never fancied it that much. However the 30 and 40yo were lovely; sweet and spicy.
The 21yo was nice and I did enjoy that.Still don't care much for the standard 12yo, it's not a bad whisky, just not to my taste.
