ok...new plan i'm going to pull the 'i have to go to hospital for a check up' card and sneek out of uni early to get the Thursday evening flight. I will speak with my tutor tomorrow morning and book my flights tomorrow night,
So thanks Hannes but don't worry just yet as realistically i need to be on the Thursday flight to make life simple and cheap. i'll PM you tomorrow if there's a problem otherwise assume BR will play on Friday. Safe ting.

There is a 50mm inner sleeve in the bottom...
Rupert, what avantages do you see using the rod??
I think, it makes you do a bigger diameter hole through the pole, making it weaker -
a better design would have been to thread the tip of the pole so the bolt comes in through the bottom up inside the pole
