This was bought off ebay a bit ago - but I need the money for a new monitor.

I bought it for £175 and am looking to sell it for the same - please spare me comparisons with other bikes.

A pre-War (1938) Maclean Featherweight 22 inch (centre to top) steel frame (frame number W888) from Maclean of Upper Street, Islington (which used to be a few yards away from The Angel).
The frame is in great condition - straight with no dents or dings, with a professional restoration paint job (date unknown) with scrapes to a couple of hard to notice areas.
Gold lug-lining picking out the fish-tail lugs. The chromed head, fork crown, lower forks and stays are unblemished.
Braze-ons include a lamp boss on the right fork, pump pegs on the down tube, mudguard fixings on the forks and seat stays, an additional fixing on the right seat stay for a rear lamp, and a chain hanger on the right chain stay.
The top tube is 23 inches (centre to centre). The forks are set at 95mm and the rear drop-outs at 110mm (which happily take a free/fixed flip-flop hub).
Designed for 27 1 1/4 but will take 700c.
Undrilled rear brake bridge, so you could use Resilions or other clamp on track calipers (or just drill it if you're feeling evil)
Complete with Chater-Lea head clip and Bayliss-Wiley bottom bracket.

I have a red BSA shopper for £25 will give it a clean, everything works exept the rear sturmey archer nut has sheared (plenty of those around for replacement though)

I bought 2 used but excellent condition for £115 - I know NOS carries a premium, and these are lovely both visually and engineering quality-wise but £500 is just testing the water - I can see them going for half that.

The other problem with Resilions is that you have to use special double cables and brakes pads that are much rarer than the brakes themselves plus the pads wear out really quick. But they save you having to drill a frame.

I was after a set of those Resilions - but at £111 with 9 days to go it's too rich for my blood.

I hate resprays - OCD people can't leave all those lovely imperfections and have to paint over all that history just for vanity. Rust rules.
