Stevo has lots of posts on his set up in the diy thread eg. https://www.lfgss.com/comments/17510095/
Fwiw my situation is:
an armoured cable plugged in a socket in a brick shed > out a hole > under the patio > properly wired into an outdoor socketI only use it for Xmas lights for Halloween and Xmas, with potential for use in the summer for a hifi or something. So the majority of the time it's physically unplugged, then switched off out of hours.
Here is a video I saved for the outdoor socket as I found it very hard to find a good guide on
https://youtu.be/jH5LcjqPr7A?si=ZP_F8Ta-xqIFSEje
If you already have an outdoor socket and it's a semi perm thing, I'd be tempted to do a proper job with a permanent socket in the shed. Either diy with the proper research or paying an electrician.

I think you've got to be a bit careful saying that sort of stuff.
He's clearly the sort who makes lewd jokes and constantly says "as the actress said to the bishop", but the allegations all relate to that style of behaviour rather than being predatory. Being a cunt isn't the same as sexually assaulting people.

Really does paint a miserable picture of 90s Britain.
I mean, a miserable picture for sales reps driving up and down M4 corridor or wherever. I'm not sure it's that great today either.
That said early 90s Britain was much more 80s than I think people assume/remember. Idk about the rest of the country, but the change in London from being grey, rundown, and full of homeless people on the streets and smack heads burgling houses and steeling bits off your car to a vibrant modern city by the end of the decade was staggering.
It's incredibly depressing that London today now has those same levels of visible homelessness again.

Enjoyed that too.
Not sure I agree on the flat pedals though. After decent tyres clips and shoes were probably the biggest noticeable upgrade I ever made.
Definitely right on the "go now". I've only been touring once, and I wish I'd done shorter tours earlier, rather than putting the Santiago one I did on a pedestal and worrying about trying to build the right bike for it. Which in the end I didn't do anyway.

+1 for Mr Beams.
Maybe have a solid sesh scrolling though tlc https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Lighting_External_Index/New_External_Wall_Lighting_Index/index.html
Is there a regs reason you can't drill the bottom and put a grommet of some sort?
Looking at this, I'd have thought you could drill a neat hole with one of those armoured cable lock nut grommet things.

Kind of expected this to be more complex inside.
I've had to repair our £30 second hand tumble dryer twice. Once replacing the heating element, once just resetting the internal fuse.
Both times I was amazed at how basic it is inside. Idk what I expected, but it wasn't really a giant bin attached to a big rubber band.
Obviously they use a lot more electricity, but they are so cheap and easy to DIY if issues arise.

£200 for a 57cm Jamis Aurora Elite (the disc and 631 version)

Maybe, but my bet is that you're still going to struggle with clearance at the chainstays. Idk about honjos or other alu ones, but GB aren't thinner than sks. I guess cutting the existing guards after the seat stay bridge would be an option. Or maybe even cutting the equivalent sections out of the sks guards to test it first? Or maybe cutting the seat stay bridge out?
TBH it sounds easier to get a new frame:
- Spend £60-100 on 38mm tyres
- Spend £60-80 on metal mudguards and hope that crimping or whatever works
- Spend £60-80 again on replacement metal mudguards because you didn't crimp properly and introduced stress risers into the last set.
... for 3mm gain?
- Spend £60-100 on 38mm tyres

Yeah it's a Condor pista in the 2nd best colour scheme they ever did.
They're brilliant bikes with an atrocious resale value. They've always gone cheap but without mudguard mounts, discs or clearance I think your made would be lucky to get £300. Especially this time of year.
The saddle and seatpost should get some money though, so I'd swap those out for cheaper versions and sell separately.

Car fit?
