I'm trying to talk myself out of buying another set of rims...
What do peoples think these DT Swiss would look like with black spokes and black hubs?

BTW I have had a quick google and couldn't find any pictures.
EDIT: OK found this....I guess it sort of gives an idea, black hubs and spokes, but I'd be looking at 32h and 3X...soooo it's not the best eg. If anyone has a better pic it'd be appreciated.

I would.
Much as I love the pomps at that price I'd find it hard to believe they're twice/£200 better.
You could hold out for a second hand one.
I was chatting to retro de corsa and his opion was that the pomps have v flexible sizing - ie most ppl could prolly go up or down at least one size bc of the geo. I think he's got a large he's looking to sell. Drop him a PM.

^ I really, really, really, wouldn't bother. It's one thing if you've got a rim knocking about, or someone gives you one, but paying money?!?
my 2p - stay away from old rims, its just not worth it. I thought the same as you and bought an old MA3 for a fiver.... the sidewall eventually exploded. Someone was kind enough to give me a replacement, but I still had to buy new spokes and rebuild it. All round waste of time and money.
If you want an anti-theft measure, buy the rigida and paint badly. You'll end up with a better wheel, less hassle, and enjoy riding your bike more.

Had a fitting at Condor for my Condor so I'm pretty sure that's pretty close to 'right' :)
...
In that case can't you measure your Condor and then match?
Print 3 of those little bike diagrams; one with your Condor specs and then 2 with the closests Langster and Plug sizings then work out what stem/bar/seat combo you need.
Also someone might be able to recomend a good Evan's where they'll change parts and give you a sort of basic bike fit? - the closest I can do is recomend the cycle surgery in Spitlefields mrk.
....oh and take your own saddle next time you try them out. I'd chose the langster, but that's just me.

On One Pompetamine is what you need - disc compatible, 135mm rear spaced, can be built up geared or SS, or fixed
+1 - The first thing I thought when I read the OP.
Can't you put a bolt-on cog on the disc side of a singlespeed disc hub to make it fixed? If so then that would give you fixed plus a ss disc if you don't like fixed.
Then if you wanted gears, you could just build a back wheel with a Shimano Alfine disc hub.
^ all this assumes you actually want to build a new bike and your using the braking issue as justification ; )
The *really *sensible option would be buying (or re-building) a new wheelset with ceramic open pro's + suitable brake pads. Then check your brake setup, probably replacing your old cables with DA ones. Maybe a calliper upgrade, depending what you're running now.

^^ yes... well no... well sort of...
I didn't phrase myself very well, but there is some truth to his post.
The thing I don't get is when ppl come out with this whole "*this should be a fgss forum only and btw **your *all wankers...", why don't they just a) just ignore and start a new thread in a new section; or b) just fuck off and start their own forum?

...just been having a think...
The problem with the £50 one you posted is that its not geared for any real force, rght?
So if you mount it lower down, so with a wheelset the wheels touch the ground, that should give you the strength.
The only real downside I see is limiting you manoverability. But any wall mount will do this. AND tbh my folding park stand flexes too much for me to do stiff bb work without wheels for strength/stability.
Also if it is shit just use it as a bike hanger.

^^ that is what i was about to say. Park.
^ not the Ikea one... altho I do love it. There's one where a guy uses plastic piping, foam and somesort of fastener.

Hummm... 28h.
Suze are the only cheaper fixed hubs that come in 28h aren't they?
I'll have a think and let you know.
Cheers.
