For sale:
Immaculate condition pair of ~1948 Stronglight Type 45 (often mistaken for Stronglight Type 49). They are solid forged from "High Resistance Steel".
These cranks are as rare as hens teeth, and since I bought them over a year ago, I have only seen one other set, ever, over on e-bay.fr.
The cranks fit British cottered BB axles (I can provide one of correct length for most vintage and modern track hubs) and the pedal threads are British threaded (i.e. current standard pedals)
The cranks are designed for a single chainring for track or road use. However, they could be used as two or three speed on the road with an adapter. I'm sure the likes of Hillary Stone could oblige in sourcing one.
The condition of these cranks can only be described as brilliant; They have been re chromed using the more durable "Triple Plate" method. All original chrome plating was removed in such a way as to retain all the original detail. The job was undertaken by classic car specialist "Silvabronz", who have over 20 years experience in dealing with priceless antiques, car/bike parts and other valuables.
In the interest of being honest about the condition, There is a small (<1mm x <3mm) flake in the chrome on the non-drive-side crank, up at the cotter pin-way. This is so small, and would be covered by the washer on the cotterpin, that it is not worth worrying about. Also, because of the triple plate method, I believe that there is no steel exposed despite the small flake, and the crack is unlikely to expand. All the threads are English, and in perfect condition, and the cotter fixings are fine too.
pictures (attached, and high res) speak for themselves, I think.
I am looking for £130
Collection from a location in London to be negotiated (I don't live in London, but come up for various reasons, usually once a week-ish, late evenings. Alternatively, you can collect them from me, I live in Fleet in Hampshire, a nice days return trip out of town and back, or I could post at your expense, insured etc.
Again, these are rare, and do not come up for sale often(ever?)
I understand that this will not appeal to most people on here, but there will be some interest, I hope.
Thank you for reading,
Alistair.

That's all cool. This all relies on my sisters (17) dad saying yes to paying for parts for me to build it... I will know for certain this evening.
I'm sorry to mess you around. My sister really likes it, it's a case of convincing her dad that she needs a bike. I can collect it, so no postage either.

my brakeless fixed beater, mostly from the local dump, and a bike I had when I was about 12.
New parts include rear hub, chain and front chainring. That's about it. can't have cost more than £50...
frame is meant for 26" wheels, rear is a 700, front is a 24". Curiously, when it was on 26's, it handled like a container ship. turning didn't happen. Full stop. I was taking the piss, and stuck the 24" on for a laugh, it rides half decent now, and no toe overlap...

I count repetitive things I do - like slicing, stirring etc.
If I walk on big crack on the pavement with my right foot, I have to walk on the same crack, but inverted, on my left foot, so they feel the same.
Drives me mental.Levels on TV sets (the volume, etc) must always be an even number, or in multiples of 5.
Volume at '17'? No chance!
I'm always convinced the "balance" knob on my amplifier is never perfectly sat in the mid-point click.
i check things,
mostly: phone, wallet and keys.
like i'll put my keys in my bag and 10 seconds later i'll check they are still there.
I do all these... :O

This is a very elaborate alias and I claim my $20
far from subtle trolling though
sorry guys, i know i should lay into him, but that looks like SO much fun
Not an alias.
Nope, not subtle.
it actually rides better like that, than with a 700 on the front. the geo on that piece of shit frame makes it handle like a cross channel ferry. Not sure why, but the 24" mtb wheel makes it ride nicely. It's fun to ride too.
I live in a small town and bike theft isn't a problem here, but if I pop to the library, or whatever on one of my nice bikes, I always feel I should carry my NY9000 with this, I don't bother locking it. It's so gash, and brakeless, with atacs on, nobody will even be able to ride it anyway...All in, I would say the bike totalled about £40. The only new parts were the rear hub, front chainring and bb. Everything else came from bikes at the local dump, or my spares box. Not bad...
Oh, and I only put the stem up for the photo... haha

Seriously though mate, that's not how this works round here. Posting 5 times in a row, in the nursery thread, isn't going to get you anything other than a big fat slap.
https://www.lfgss.com/post1635493-3225.html READ IT! IT'S ON THIS FUCKING PAGE TOO.
