So you reckon I should buy an 8 speed chain and everything should be all good?
Id like to avoid getting both cassette & chain unless I really have to.
Yes you need a 8 speed chain for the cassette.
6 speed chains will run crap on any 8/9/10 speed cassette, the jumping your getting is nothing to do with the chain being worn it's just the wrong size.
7/8 speed chains will run *ok *on a 9 speed cassette but that's the only exception.
10 or 11 speeds have a very specific (Extra Narrow) chain and won't run on anything else.

+1 for this baby, it's a 1W star LED at the top and 3 standard ultra bright ones underneath. Flashes and standard, lasts as long as you like...
+1 for the 'superflash' it's the brightest rear I've ever used and doesn't drink the batteries.
Only problems with mine is it hates water.
Even a slight humidity content in the air is enough for it to throw a hissy fit.
