may pick out some interesting companies/views sometimes
Yeah, I feel the free stuff is still worth reading sometimes as there are companies/sectors out there you'd never think of otherwise . You just need to remember it's just, like, their opinion, man.
The articles explaining how it all works I found quite useful, with examples and numbers and stuff.

Not sure if you were after advice, so feel free to ignore of you weren't... Compare your pics to the couple of loaves below. The slashes on yours look fully baked whereas you can see on the others where the loaf has continued to rise and expand as it has cooked. Your loaf may be cooking too fast on the outside, meaning the crust is sealed too early and the pressure can't force the slits open further. Hence bulging sideways.
If you have a fan oven this can cause the crust to dry too quickly, also the heating element at the top of the oven being on can do this. If you can, cook on bottom element only with no fan. A Dutch oven (lid on) will also stop this from happening.

Can anyone recommend any resources, books, websites, etc for learning about investing in the stock market? I'm very aware I know precious little about how it all works and would like to know more. Been reading some of the free articles on the Motley Fool site and getting some of the basics (I think) but a lot of it still seems a bit of a mystery.

I'm after a laptop generally for fairly light use - web browsing, emails, word processing, viewing PDFs... That sort of thing. Ultra portability is not really required as it will mostly be used at home, and screen doesn't have to be super high Res. Budget around £2-300, what should I be looking at?
I haven't bought a laptop or computer in over 10 years so I'm a little behind on current tech!
Thanks hive mind!

Yeah, though once I knew I had time to walk it in it became easier. Had a little cry when I got home, I was completely done.
Navigating from the watch, in the dark, on less obvious paths is a special skill. But it's highlited a few areas where the route could be improved and a closer look at the map would help so I can avoid some tricky bits for next year's EfM. I doubt I would have reccied any of it otherwise.

I just finished my Day Release. Did not go as planned but there are a few obvious reasons (toothache earlier in the week disrupting sleep, anti biotics for aforementioned tooth messing with my gut, FiL taken into hospital on Friday) as well as bag too heavy as I hadn't really thought through starting on a Sunday meaning everywhere closes earlier so had 3.5kg of drink, plus food and clothes etc.
I had a low point after about 20 miles, which lasted for about 15 miles. Unusual for me to suffer like that so early on. That cost me time I couldn't recover so turned back at about 45 miles (aiming for 51) which had take me about 10 hours and I was fading again so wanted to make sure I could get home. From there it was a bit of a death march home. Walked a lot. Couldn't eat anything all night. Feel pretty dead now and still not feeling like eating much. Hopefully sleep will help.

And @dbr yeah really strange and cool. I didn't even know they were a thing until recently and then stumbled over them. They are only about 5mm or so across, took the photo using the macro function on phone camera so scale might be hard to tell.
Common Bird's Nest (Crucibulum leave) I think. -

There is no correct answer to this. I'd look at some training plans to get an idea of how they build up and include "rest" weeks every 3 or 4 weeks. Your training load needn't follow a strict plan but if you look over a few you should get a decent idea.
Worth stating that whatever you choose to do you should review and be honest with yourself about how tired you are, is that niggle getting worse, etc. Plans always look good before you start, but half way through when you're flagging on every run it's time to reevaluate!
