A recent Rich Roll podcast with Adam Grant talks about this sort of thing. Can't remember exactly what he says but it's along the lines of "be open to the idea of them being right and question them as if you wanted to know more" in order to make them explain how a chip with 666 on it would get into a vaccine, how come there are no whistleblowers, how come no journolist is trying to win a Pulitzer by publishing articles about this, etc. instead of "no, that's obviously bullshit and you're an idiot".

Should anyone still need pancake recipe I went with this: https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/recipes/vegan-pancake-recipe
They were ok, not quite as flexible as a "traditional" pancake which made flipping over a bit harder and I split a few but worked out alright. Mix could probably be a bit thicker tbh.

Not mad, no. It's safe, it's all manageable online and paper free if that's your bag, you can set prizes up to auto-reinvest to grow your hoard. As others have said it's not instant access. Takes a few working days so you'd be wise to keep some cash instantly available.
Plus you could win a million... In reality you can expect the equivalent of a low (1%) interest rate.

I finished this morning's run with pretty clean shoes thanks to the flooded path about a mile and a half from home washing off the mud acquired over the previous 15 miles.
238 miles for the month. A good start to Deadwater training. Starting to add in some bodyweight exercises a couple of times a week now... Not so easy to motivate myself to do those :/

DFV bought a call option to buy 500 blocks of 100 shares (so 50,000 shares in total) at $12 at any point before April 16th
How does this part work then? Can DFV just say "yeah I'll buy those shares now for $12 each, thanks!" and the other end of the transaction has to sell at that point or can the person on the other end specify the time to sell and DFV has to buy at $12 a share regardless of market price? Basically who has the power here?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I do get the guy has to make a living and I don't begrudge him making money this way. I just get the feeling that a lot of people will get burnt when this is all over and this guy will be a millionaire. Those people losing out will be those people singing his praises now.

^good point on the compounding. I don't like to lose money so my risk tolerance is probably lower than a lot of others.
So this deepfuckingvalue chap is making millions as he sells off older positions, can afford to keep buying in at the higher price to show he's got skin in the game but actually is reducing risk and realising reward all the time whilst there are people putting their last dollar into GME all being egged on by WSB and media hype?
Why are WSB calling him their god when he's making millions at their risk?

They way I think about these things is "have I made a good return on the money in the investment timeframe?"
The answer is clearly a yes. There is zero risk in taking the money now. If you take the cash then stop looking at the share price because you have a nice wad of cash in your pocket and the price now is irrelevant.
Could you have a better return? Maybe. Could double from here. Could drop to below your starting position. There is risk in leaving it though.
Personally I like the idea of taking out your initial investment (maybe a bit more if you could do with the cash), then you have zero risk in leaving the rest there to see what happens.

I still don't see the endgame here, you (collectively) bankrupt the hedge funds who shorted more than available stock to teach them a lesson then you start selling so you can see the actual profit in your actual bank account (because it's not worth shit until it's sold) and then because everyone does the same the price crashes and those who were late to sell end up getting screwed.
I just can't see it being the happy ending they all seem to think it is.
Really interesting to see it all play out though.

Continuing the "just add hot water" food chat... Tesco own brand instant noodles, 30p a pack, chicken flavour (0% chicken) and chow mein flavour are both vegan. Tried the chicken today... Can't say it tasted of a lot tbh, probably taste alright after a day in the hills. For: Easy, light weight, and warm. Against: Not much going on in terms of nutrition and palm oil high up the ingredients list.

Answering my own question, there seem to be a lot of products for vegans out in the wilds: https://www.peta.org/living/food/emergency-preparedness-dehydrated-vegan-backpacking-food/

Ha, not quite so challenging. Deadwater, a 6 day stage race on foot.
Edit: assuming that by late August stuff will be allowed to happen again.
That pretty much covers all of Reading ;) Is this the bit of land just North of Southcote Lock on the canal? Used to head down through there all the time.
