Can plod stop cyclists without needing to have a reason, as they can do with motor vehicles.
It used to be that they had the power to give you a fixed penalty.
Goddamn, glad that's not in force anymore or LFGSS would have to be all secretive and underground, like that episode of the Goodies and the outlawed scouts. I guess the flip flop hub must have been invented to keep away the fuzz.

London Fields Cycles is so busy with repairs that their waiting list has been very long for a couple of years, which is why there are now dedicated repair-only businesses in Hackney, i.e. Bike Yard East or Bike Mech. Lock-7 also do repairs, and no doubt others will spring up in due course.
Kiwi cycles are literally around the corner from LFC on Darnley rd. From what I hear Paul is a good mechanic.

About time. I hope this is the start of something bigger and is not just a PR stunt. I still feel that cyclists need legislation to help protect them from the most dangerous road users - motor vehicles. It may make drivers look a bit harder and drive appropriately around us if there are large penalties for colliding with cyclists & peds.
The type of incident highlighted in Dancing James's thread yesterday happens all too often, and I would think have turned into a hit & run had he or his friend actually been driven into.

Ok then, Easts TT lives on despite the pretty average weather we bin havin. The track dried out enough last night and the times were as follows:
Mobidog: 2:08.41
hoonz: 2:14.78
Nurse Holliday: 2:18.97
The Schick: 2:25.25I have a confession to make on last weeks times, if they seemed a little fast that's because they were fudged in the interest of trying to heat up some competetion etc. All involved agreed that we would have to come clean so here are the actual times from last week:
Reeen: 2:10.44
Ehren Fried Chicken: 2:19.12
Oliver Schick: 2:26.75 (full weight wheeler)
OKwithmydecay: 2:34.97
Bluequinn: 2:37.44 (geared)Would be cool if we could get more than a handful of times laid down each week. Come on you lot, htfu!

I'm a noob to east beers, was thinking of turning up. I can't make it before 7, so might come straight there. What time do you expect to start?
seeing as we'll be rolling from Trafalgar Sq. we'll be there at about 7.30. Others may be there earlier but this can't be guaranteed.
^^I'm saying we'll up there, no-one has 100% committed, at least in a post so it might be a solo compass ride for me yet.

That bike is pretty cheesey
