If it's not in the contract that you can't keep a bike on the premises I don't think you have an issue. She may of course decide not to renew your lease but you won't be in breach of contract so you're fine until then.
My contract says I am not allowed to keep pedal cycles in the flat but I had five at last count.
Who are these people who write these things? WTF is a pedal cycle? I know what they are attempting to refer to but FFS.
@Sharkstar, did you just remove your pedals on your your 5 bikes for each rent inspection to get around the wording in your contract?

About that short crank solution, quite honestly I don't know how a mere 5mm shorter would make a huge difference in preventing pedal strike, I mean 5mm, that's pretty short.
I'd have though it come down to the choice of pedal than the crank length itself, a short clipless pedal would have less chance of a pedal strike than a wide BMX-style pedal.
My fixed machine is a conversion with 170mm cranks and is old enough to use a 120 rear spacing. Pedal strike has never been an issue either with track pedals or clipless as the BB is fairly high. BMX pedals could cause a few issues but I've never tried them. It all depends on the frame design itself and the Q distance (distance between pedals) made up of your BB width and crank profile. My tourer on the other hand would have awful pedal strike due to the low BB and would therefore be totally unsuited to fixed wheel shananigans.
One advantage of running an old road frame is often they have bottle cage braze-ons and readily accept brakes which is a god send IMO.

Barmaid- Sorry what was that? 2 pints of cider and a g&t? (ignores the water request)
Me- yes please and tap water (gives me a frowned look)
Barmaid- Dont do tap water (leaning in the bar pointing at the fridge)
Me-ok

So lets remove the congestion charge extension and - hey presto - have even worse traffic congestion. Sounds like a great plan for business. Essential deliveries will take even longer to reach their destination and no doubt will actually cost businesses more in lost time and wasted fuel.
It's a car park already, it'll just turn into a long-stay car park.
I reckon business related vehicles should get a cheaper CC rate, and private ones should get a more expensive rate, to discourage unecessary car use. Most things like 3 seater sofas get delivered by the shop's lorry because a golf just won't cut the mustard for things that big. So you don't need to drive to the shop. IKEA is not within the congestion zone either.

Incidentally, one of my Bobbinbird's friends, who has occasionally joined us at Easts is particularly dissatisfied with her boyfriend. BB is hatching a plan to have her meet eligible single forumengers on wednesdays in the hope of finding a replacement.
I may well appear....
Some of us may well turn out to be very ineligible....

- Velosolo Risers with 100mm kalloy stem and clear oury grips, all gd condition - £20
pm'd
@dimas, for some bizarre reason the pm section will not let me reply to your pm. So the risers etc are yours if you are willing to pay £20. £10 don't cut the mustard. The whole lot cost me over £40 so I think 20squids is perfectly reasonable.
24hours to reply then 2nd in line gets them.
