Ok, so at easts last night a bunch of us got talking about pubs, pros and cons etc. I piped up about a pub local to me called the Oakdale Arms, 283 Hemitage Rd N4 1NP. It's too far north for our easts tour so it was suggested that a separate visit be organized.

The Oakdale has aquariums all through it with live reptiles living in them, bizarre ales I've never heard of, a duke box with 2500 tracks mostly punk, rock & roll, metal, ska etc. a cheap pool table and a massive old punk for a landlord.

So I guess the idea here would be for other forumengers to put forward some suggestions of other quirky pubs and then we can make a ride (woop, woop) out of it. Good times be a' rollin'.

Very interesting. I find it fascinating how a certain surrounding can provoke a general vibe/mood/frame of mind etc in people who are exposed to said surrounding.

Just the chin mate. There are no hard and fast rules in the world of beard racing.

What 'model' is the jacket? Is it lined or just a waterproof shell?

Not sure of the model, but it's a medium, has a lining, underarm vents and a rear pocket.

Works a treat. Probably wouldn't want to use it every day but be good for a bling bike or something you might only use occasionally.

Carradice Super C bar bag. Comes with RK klickfix bar attachment in regular and O/S and U/S light attachment. Bought new and been used for a month long tour. Good cond. One of the studs on the map holder came apart but I have replaced it with a new one and works fine.

I had quite a few pints (£3, puure looxury. I know it's like only 30 to 50p cheaper per pint but you really notice it) so my memory is a bit sketchy.

The Kenton is a nice pub on many levels but shame about the bike security. I like my steed to be witihn easy view. My Pie was ace. It's all gravy bruv....

I did get shouted at this morning by a overpriveledged blonde woman on her mobile because my front wheel had edged onto the pedestrian crossing at Exmouth Market. I guess she was right that I should have been 6 inches to a foot further back, but there was a good 15 foot worth of crossing! Those kinds of right or wrong opinions are beyond me.

Did you say you were deeply sorry to the bottom of your heart ask her if she wanted to go and get a coffee at your expense? Usually snaps people out of their Anger stupor pretty quickly.
