I run a road QR hub on the front of my fixed machine for this exact reason, to run a pit lock. Means I can lock up the bike with my krypto mini-d via the back wheel inside the frame triangle. The rear wheel still runs track nuts. Less fuss and pretty secure IMO.
You can actually buy security nuts off a company in SE london, but you'd have to carry the tool around with you for when you get a flat.

It's a pub in an odd area, could be either fantastic or dire. The problem with pubs near Viccy park is that it's percieved as a cool area and a destination in itself, so they always get the passing trade, therefore they can charge loads for beer and food. Pubs in a more difficult area need some incentive to get the pun'ers in.
This is most likely a mistake but I have high expectations for this pub.

They're both good. Sealed is set and forget, but they are heavier and have a little more drag unless it's a top of line one. Cup and cone are lighter and generally spin better in my experience. The bearings are also closer to the crank arms. I've got the original cup and cone BB in my tourer. It's a tange with seals etc. Must be close to 20 years old and still going strong. I serviced it (just a clean and regrease) before going on tour and had to adjust it once in 2500kms of touring in all weathers.

Pieminster pie and mash for £8.50 is good value.
As is £3.10 for a pint of Landlord, and Hoegarden on Tap for the Schickster.
If Fruitbat gets there before 6pm they have a pensioner's special, Landlord for £2.
They say they have extended the garden. Fancy an exploratory fact-finding mission?Which pub is this for? Fruitbat is gonna be pissed at your comment btw. Maybe literally at £2 per pint.

@rocksteady, the Camel is a good suggestion IMO. I haven't been there for ages but if I remember correctly they do pies at reasonable prices. This would obviously need confirmation via a pint and pie tasting reconaissance mission. The Flowers is just down the road and they do pizzas if i remember rightly which could also be worth a look, although bike locking could be an issue.
Other posts above mention the Morgan Arms, I have been there and it's an over priced gastro affair with an affluent clientele, due to the surrounding mansion houses and the square nearby. Personally I don't think it's what we are looking for but others may dissagree.
Another suggestion perhaps after the Camel is the Shakespeare. It is somewhat controversial as it's in an N postcode, but only just. It does real ale, has railings for bikes, outside seating and does no food whatsoever so you can get a pizza next door and eat it in the pub.

Bojo, Bozza, Blojo, Bogo whatever. I just don't want to say "Barclays Hire bike" every time I refer to a "Barclays Hire Bike" or "Barclays Cycle Hire when refering to "Barclays Cycle Hire" as the whole thing. Everyone else's (other cities) use one word like the Velib or Bixi. That's cool, that's right, that's better. Than "Barclays Cycle Hire" which is totally shite.
Should we start a poll, vote on the "word" and get our term out to the masses by dropping it into everyday conversation?

To expect to not have to slow down ever is rediculous, heaven forbid you might have to actually stop at a red signal! The vast majority of lights I stop at, mainly because I don't miss the few extra minutes it takes, also give me a chance to practice the ol' trackstand. Coming off the back of my touring this summer I'm also pretty rapid these days so I ususally catch everyone who ran the red in any case. If I'm approaching a zebra, toucan or signalled ped crossing I stop if anyone is waiting or on it, or at least slow down enough to let them pass and then ride through behind them. People nearly always say thankyou. Courtesy costs nothing and makes for a much more relaxed vibe on the journey.
