Some comments if that’s ok (though I know you’ve ordered the s500):

• I have gravel kings sk, I like them, never had any issues, really versatile and do the job for the price. I will be fitting the ss soon.
  
• S500 - don’t like; weird ridge because they are just shifter levers without the paddle which is super uncomfortable. I have some cane creek levers ready to go on for the summer refresh and they feel so much nicer.
  
• The ritchey classic stem doesn’t actually match the bar and seatpost. It has a weird brushed finished. Weirdest choice ever by Ritchey. I’d suggest finding a different stem if you want colour match over brand match.

That’s pretty epic. Bit late now but if the top tube had been left longer would’ve had strong BtR Pinner homage feeling. Be fun to see the front triangle in place!

Downtube does look to be easiest part! No idea on the butting on the seat tube and top tube, but why not leave a good chunk of top tube, and bring the he new top tube in in such a way to give it a GT triple triangle (this may not actually work give the angles but would be cool).

Very curious to see how this develops. Minimal chopping up of the rear end makes sense. Curious to see how you solves the new tube to existing seat tube interface.

You at least hope they vaguely thought about the rear wheel movement before bolting it together beyond just “haha boing boing”

Is rotating the whole frame forward going to compromise how the suspension performs…assume that someone designed it at these angles for a reason.

Yeah one is definitely the atb for covering rough ground over a long ride (who is it that pioneered that in the UK…name escapes me) and the Combe is for having a good bit of fun on mountain bike trails. I was looking at it before I went with the Starling.

Trick of the eye I think due to the chainstay coming in above the bb.

I got a bit more pedal strike when going up over roots and big rocks than on my overforked hardtail, but perhaps also because I was actually pedalling not walking!
