This seems an appropriate place to ask what is probably a dumb question but here goes, I just hit a massive pothole on my way to work and its dented my wheel and bent a spoke. The pothole is next to some roadworks which I'm pretty sure weren't there yesterday and the pothole is definitely new so I'm assuming it is connected with the people doing the work. Now I know that the damage is probably fixable by someone who knows what they're doing but is there any kind of avenue for complaints with the hope of getting the council/whoever is responsible for the work to pay for the repair/a new wheel?? I'm going to take a picture on my way home later but this pothole was probably bigger than most kitchen sinks!

Tbh I'd have thought that would've been obvious, but yeah, fair point.
BIKE IS NOT ROAD LEGAL.
JUST LIKE ALL THOSE BRAKELESS FIXED GEAR BIKES, WHICH SOMEHOW DON'T SEEM TO PROVOKE AS MUCH OF A SHITSTORM ON HERE. EQUALLY ILLEGAL.
However, the positive thing about this bike is that if you have balls the size of creme eggs (like me) these can be used as a braking system, simply by wedging them in between the back wheel and the frame.
I must urge readers that no matter how tempted they are, NOT to try this with the front wheel and the frame. Safety first.
from what 'some-guy' said to my mate at one of those free cycle clinics..
FG + Front brake + No back brake = ok
SS + Front brake + No back brake = not road legal (but fine if you have egg-balls)

i once had to use a small angle grinder on my mates d-lock because he lost the key. it was like a hot knife through butter, this was a few years ago on a £30ish lock. I've spent £50 on mine, supposedly it has some kind of 'special-anti-anglegrinder-finish'. so far so good, but imo if you leave a bike anywhere overnight it won't make a difference.

Colnago Super with Campy SR groupset. A couple of hours to go and only £210...
I was very tempted myself to have a punt seeing as its my size but i don't think getting another bike would go down well with her indoors ;-)

Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for converting this to single speed? Is it worth it? Is it morally ok?!

I busted a rim recently and will need to replace it soon.. the hub I have is 28 holes which seems to be an awkward size. I'm thinking of going for a pair of black Formula hubs and a black Velocity Deep V, I'll do the front when I have more cash...
I found this on Sheldon Brown...
I fancy having a go because I like fixin' shit, and would like to be able to do this when it (inevitably) happens again. Any advice or opinions about choice of parts appreciated...
